Exactly, how many corners have you seen Stevie G take that hit the first man? 70%? Regardless, it's an awful lot and far too many.

Thing is, shouldn't it be the manager's decision as to who takes corners?

I don't see why he wouldn't fancy that more than hacking it to the first man every time anyway...someone on the coaching staff ain't doing their job right cos Stevie should not be taking them, simple as
"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

I'd have Aurelio taking the corners, Gerrard in the box ready to latch onto one, and Alonso outside the box for the scraps.

So we're all agreed that SG's corners are ****. Thing is, he'll continue to take them so what do we know eh?

Funnily Gerrards free kick taking has improved this season although his corners are as bad as ever and he deffo needs to be in the box personally i'd have Xabi taking the corners and just to broaden the argument our crossing from open play leaves a lot to be desired.

I remember Hamman hardly took them but when he did he put in some great balls. McAllister was our last great set piece exponent. Before that probably John Barnes!

i'm always on about this. For me, as Good a player as Gerrard is, he's possibly the worst corner taker I've ever seen.

Why? Because he's forever trying to get the 'perfect' corner which 90% of the time leads to him hitting the first defender.

He would offer so much in the box aswell.

I'm still baffled as to why Rafa hasn't taken him off corner duty.

If he's playing, Fabio should take a fair %.
