    He's of Uruguayan descent.

Played with Troyes in France for two years i think when he was younger, didn't really settle well and ended up coming back to Australia.

Pretty much made his name at the Newcastle Jets last season where he won the Johnny Warren Award AKA the A-League player of the season award.

He's basically a playmaker/in the hole type player, has a few tricks in his repertoire, absolutely shredded in the A-League.

Got signed up by Genclerbirgligi in Turkey and from all accounts has been one of their best. I reckon he'd be well suited to play in Spain.

I'm a season ticket holder at the Jets so i may be a bit biased.

    Here's some clips:

I would have thought it was good for him to play the full 90 seeing as though he has missed 99999999,99999,99999 minutes up top this point!! He needs games under his belt and to come through unscathed is good for us
            Rafa please get me.....

Unfortunately I can see Riise starting.

              Away game = Rafa caution

not the way rafa sees it, seeing as he was easing him in giving him 20 mins and then half an hr i think, the next jump would have been 45 mins or so, but to step it up to 90 mins like that with someone as injury prone as harry is maybe not the best way to keep him fit

Though he was supposed to be fit, he should start trotting off 90 mins by now, blimey he's had enough time to recover.

If he wasn't 100% fit he shouldn't have been out there.

For a player that has had so many false dawns he doesn't half get some support on here, gawd knows why ?

I think you'll find he's one of the squad and hasn't been one of the players for some time.

fit harry kewell our best winger at club....and one of the best in europe!

thats the trouble though - he never fit and with his history of injuries i dont reckon he will ever again be fit enough to play a full season for us....shame.

Hear hear, the constant (and frankly boring) stick that Harry Kewell gets from a lot of 'supporters' is more than tiresome now. Surely to god we should all hope he rerturns to full fitness AND the form he is undoubtedly capable of. He didnt want to go through this injury nightmare, its not his fault, get off his back people.

It was a maddening risk but considering how long before our next match it was then it has worked out for the best for us I suspect. Part of not playing him for more that 20 minutes for us I suspect is to get the maximum impact from him - i.e. he can play all out for that long but for much longer and he might become a passenger.

If a full match increases his fitness/sharpness without picking up an injury then that will probably be good for us. IMO it was an unacceptable risk and if I was Rafa I would still be furious.

But just a couple of weeks ago Rafa was saying he felt sorry for Harry as he could not guarantee him the games he needed to get up to full fitness.

I think this has worked out well for us. Let's face it we need to push Harry as hard as we can to see if he'll last a couple of more years.
