West Ham plan bid for Liverpool prospect Hobbs
    tribalfooball.com - November 18, 2007

West Ham United are interested in Liverpool defender Jack Hobbs.

The People says Hammers spies watched the Anfield prospect in the reserves last week and will swoop if Rafa Benitez keeps overlooking him.

Hobbs has hardly figured since signing from Lincoln and could slip further down the pecking order if a new defender arrives in January.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Loan him out, and give him a chance to prove himself, I'd say.

As ever this article has plenty of 'facts'.

That would seem the best option to me too.

The problem for these young players is they must have outstanding ability and show that they can progress quickly to be considered good enough. Loaning him out to a premier league club will be an excellent option but they must show their worth during that time. If not they'll be classified as 'potential' and it will go on and on like that until they're shipped out.

I think Hobbs will be a good player, but from what I've seen of him, he does lack a bit of pace, so unless he masters the art of defending ala Carra, I don't think he'll make it regularly for us. Even more if we're buying this Garay lad.

He can go on loan to gain experience but, we need him back as in my opinion, he's a cracking player who just needs that first break in the first team

We certainly shouldn't sell him and I don't think we should loan him out either really. He's still young, he appears to be in a better position than most of our young players regarding breaking into the team. He should stay put. If he's good enough he'll get his chance

yes, and if this quota rule ever comes in he i think would be counted as a 'home-grown' player.
                              We come not to play.
