No, I didn't see that game.
The last couple of years, which are the ones I naturally remember best, Hamann won the ball and gave it to Alonso/Gerrard. So he didn't play that role of the long range passer.
Maybe I have a short memory then.

He MAY have been a good passer of the ball, but his role for Liverpool was to win it, shield it and get a free kick; or pass it short.

simply because i find it astounding an lfc supporter could fail to appreciate how good didis long-range passing was and there was such a beautiful example the following saturday
