I’m sorry to piss on your parade but yes he ****ing does.

Anyone who seriously believes any footballer (Carra is an exceptionally rare, er, exception) doesn’t give a **** about playing for his country must have never played the game.

It is not much different from being selected for your school team, and then being picked for the county side. It’s recognition that you are THE BEST in your position in the whole country. It is a huge honour, no matter what you, I, or anybody else thinks about ****ty international football.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Is right. If you want to be remembered as a great it helps a whole lot if you can produce on the biggest stages, of which the WC and Euros are.

Thought he was playing with,er,too much passion last night! Again trying to do too much on his own, pretty much the things which Rafa hinted at when he hauled him off against the blue****e. A mate text me after the game suggesting we should cash in on him but i think he was just pissed and a bit emotional after such a poor game!

croatia walked through the england midfield at will last night. SG is a fanatstic player but it was only his faults on display last night (i though t only crouch had a good game so i'm not just knocking SG). he is not a CM and last night only proved it even more. wonder if rafa was watching.

So true about playing with too much passion - I know exactly what Rafa meant now when he subbed him v the blue****e (Rafa )

He does really push those passes through at such a pace - wonder if he would be able to control some of those. A great player who just needs to start playing a bit more with his head and channel his passion.

Back on topic, I would never sell him.

can't see him changing too much at this stage. like the idea of him being a centre half though when he slows down. i wonder would zonal marking be too confusing for him?

I agree with much of what your saying, i do wonder if he truly fits into a Rafa team or not, or what his best position on the pitch is. I guess the only thing we can hope for is that last night wont affect his club form as he has been playing better in recent weeks.

I actually think Carra cared - probably not as much as he did about playing for LFC but he always seemed to want to prove himself at every level. I'm glad he jacked it in as an Liverpool fan but England could really have done with his experience last night.

I think it sums up the England management mentality though, the way they treated Carra was abysmal and he was fully justified in jacking it in. I can understand to some degree the logic of the Terry/Ferdinand combination but why was Carra overlooked when one of those two were injured! I cant for one minute believe that Ledley King/Wes Brown are better than him. Neither can i believe that Phil ****ing Neville is a better full back than him!!

I can confirm that he didn't care that much.

i'd have cashed in after he handed in a transfer request in 2005.
would i have regreted it? sometimes yes, sometimes no. the feeling lingers on that we might have been better off without him.

Chelsea were reportedly ready to offer 32 million for Gerrard then.
He is worth more than that.

We all know Gerrard and Lampard can't play together so it might not have been all bad.

He was close to end of contract though wasn't he?
