Liverpool co-Chairmen Tom Hicks and George Gillett have today released the following statement.
"We made a significant investment in the playing squad during the summer and desperately want this team to succeed.

"There are some very important games coming up in the next couple of weeks and all of us need to focus on winning those games and getting the best out of the players we already have at the club.

"We will leave any talk of buying or selling players until we come across to Liverpool in December and sit down with the Manager then."

      wtf???

      FFS!
What caused them to come out with that!!

      What does that even mean?
      Cloak and dagger stuff.

Getting the best out of players at the club, not discussing transfers before December. Not like this **** needs working on in advance of the window?

Ah them Yanks...They believe they spunked a lot in the summer do they?
      Net?

        I'd go with that.

I thought Foster Gilett is living over here to stop that exact thing happening?

I think something big must have happened this week between the owners and Rafa. Rafa said today that he's not had the best of weeks and now we get a statement like this I mean, what's the point in even releasing a statement? I'm baffled

Exactly. About £23m. In this day and age that is not particularly "significant investment".

                Pretty obvious isn't it.

Doubtless we'll be left behind, again, as the likes of United snap up the likes of Garay...

May G & H are just used to the American system of having a coach focusing on coaching only and a admistrative type only General Manager bringing in the players. So when Rafa is talking about players they are think just shut the **** up and coach.

I think they have gotten that message on how it is done here earlier.
They do have General Managers there, and Owners supply cash for them.

It really baffles me when you consider that the 2 fellas who own our club probably know less about the sport than the majority of people who post on here.

Well the yanks will lose a lot of support if they fail to back Rafa, and it's looking like there is a problem behind the scenes. I guess it's worrying when you take these comments and match them up with reports of how they both run their 'sports franchises' over there with very little funding for their various teams etc.

If they plan to talk to Rafa in a couple of weeks time then it will probably be to late to sign the best possible players in January.

Rafa need to know what type of players he can bring in now and not in a couple of weeks time.

                              What a joke.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
