i refuse to believe that that's the way two hugely successful men go about their businesses ... that would be truely insane.
I agree it would be insane.

It is true then it's no way to run a football club.

I am very concerned things could go seriously pear shaped if Rafa goes, it would seem from reading some reports about G & H's other business dealings that maybe they do get neglectful and do not invest fortunes. If rafa goes we have a mainly spanish contingent most of which I would suspect will follow him out the door and in the meantime morale could be non-exsistent.

In the summer it wasn't just a case of competing with Utd and Chelsea we needed to catch them , i don't think the yanks have caught on to this idea. It is clear to see we a way down from teams like Arsenal in our footballing ability and maybe time is not on our side regarding youngsters rafa has bought to be coming though so therefore some money needs to be spent!

I will be absolutely devastated if we don't sign mascherano and it will hurt very much as it clear to se how good he is

The crux of it, IMO, is that the americans aren't flush with cash. We didn't spend £ 50m pounds in the summer if you see how much we've recuperated with the outgoings. The only real ready made 'quality' we've bought was Torres & Benayoun, with Babel & Lucas still being young and raw.

The americans faults are simply ... they're americans, meaning they came in with a blaze of glory Hollywood style. I mentionned it at the time, that they were talking too much and it was clearly a PR operation being used by them. Like all true businessmen, they won't spend money for the sake of it, and football is certainly not a sport where you can make easy money quickly, if you consider how much they had to invest to buy us, and the stadium costs.

So all in all, I think we need to chill out all, and accept that it will take time for the wheels set in motion, to reap its rewards. They've brought out a commercial director and are starting a rebranding operation (+ the new stadium) which will allow us to be competitive in the future. But other teams are so far ahead, financially.

Still, if Foster Gillett isn't even bothered to stay on Merseyside to provide the liaison with both these dudes, it certainly bodes some amount of slackness from their part, cue Rafa's not being happy. But it had to remain a private issue. Rafa ranting in public serves no purpose than to put unneeded pressure on the americans, and more importantly the team.

We really didn't need this now.

FFS I even had a nightmare last night that we lost 5-3 to the barcodes
It’s not level-headedness. I don’t mean to be rude to Nicey, whose intentions are good, but it’s more ‘head in the sand’ than level-headedness.

            In my opinion of course.

I’m really ****ing worried. We can do without a power struggle/civil war….whatever you want to call it. There’ll only be one winner if it comes down to that, and it won’t be Rafa.

It is insane, but between them how many businesses have they got to run? how can they dedicate time to each of these?

For the most part i think Rafa's main grumbling is about Money, they should set a budget and then entrust Parry and rafa to get it right, that is why they are there.

If there is no money/little money tell Rafa.

In all honesty does anyone know the reason for Foster Gillett's going back to the US. It might be to negotiate for more funds, for personal reasons for all manner or reasons in fact. The trouble is that at the minute we have to work on supposition and rumour which is being fanned by the media as they want a story.

Rafa didn't rant in public though

If the stories are correct Rafa had just got off the phone to Hicks & Gillett seconds before he did his press conference. He was clearly pissed off about something and to stop himself ranting he answered each question the same. Maybe if he would have had a few hours to calm down then it might have been different.

All Rafa wants is what's best for the club and the supporters. He wants to win things yet it seems that he is constantly coming up against a brick wall.

Yeah mate I agree, but various papers have reported that he's gone since the Arsenal game. But as you say, we are being fed scraps atm, and it would be stupid to pull the trigger on it. We should chill out.

But still, it's clear there's something important going behind the scenes.
