They didn't say that Rafa wouldn't get a penny or that he would be utterly marginalised....they said wait until we come over and we will sort stuff. However bad that is from a planning perspective, I am sure there are financial concerns AND the fact that they don't like Rafa running his mouth off at the press when he gets told.

Rafa will sleep on this, talk to the owners and sort **** out.. some of the most urgent decisions will get sorted before they come over. and the storm blows over...for now.

Hicks won't change the way he is. By the sounds of it, he's always been a bit of a hard nosed sh!t house.

There's only one way this saga is ending and that's Rafa leaving.

I really hope that you are wrong but I agree with you.

I think we can make one thing clear, no Masch means no Rafa.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

It's gone beyond the simplicity of it being solely about money though, don't you think?

It's got to the point now that our owners have publicly criticised the manager and are using the local press as leverage. They know full well that by doing the interview today it would court controversy and would add fuel to the flames.

This is no longer about finances and is about principles. Rafa has strong principles and doesn't deserve to be criticised by these two yanks who know **** all about us as a club, despite being our owners.

I honestly wouldn't blame him if he walked because he deserves better. He's been treated very unfairly by these two.

I don't know Tomasj. If I were Rafa, with a glittering CV under his belt and some ar$e hole who knows nothing about footie insulted me like that in public and treated me like some sort of school kid, I'd walk.

Rafa was wrong to kick it all off by spouting his grievances to the press but Hick's response today was totally disgraceful.

I'm still in Toronto so I'm off out to get smashed and hopefully bag myself some nice Canadian beaver before kicking her out at 7am for the footie.

            Have a good evening lads.

I dread the day that Mourinho walks through the door and becomes our new manager.

I have a very nasty feeling that if Rafa goes Mourinho will be high on the yanks list of potential replacements.

Yeah, that second statement in the Echo was a proper kick in the balls. That was a real disgrace when they should have shut up or at least defused the situation and done the crunch in private.

The fans and players will no doubt be fully supportive of Rafa tomorrow and if Rafa walks anytime soon, Hicks will feel the wrath of Liverpool fans all over the world. One things for sure, he won't be welcome anywhere near Anfield. He'll be f**king lynched.

I've been critical of Rafa this season but I support him over the owners, especially after Hicks' ill advised comments.
Course he's not, but he has been backed into a corner and we all tend to go a bit feral when that happens. Believe you me, If my boss has treated me with the same same contempt as Hicks did in that interview, I'd be gone already.

I think Rafa will understans he owes it to the players to stay for a while atleast, how can he look the likes of Torres etc in the eye and just leave. His family is also very settled on Merseyside.
Was only a few days ago he was talking about doing a Fergie. I think it is possibe to patch things up, an if they do, there can be no repeat performances from either side.
I can see Rafa looking for a face down. Back me (and stopping ****ing with me) or I quit.

Seems like that will be mid december.

They disrespected Rafa though. That cuts deep.

I reckon they would say he disrespected them first, in public, and not for the first time either.

Either way, Rafa is the man.
If he walks I would be gutted.
Then them yanks can pack it and take their stadium with them.

I don't think Rafa want to wait that long. If they don't do it in the next few days then I can't see Rafa stay.

That interview in the Echo wasn't just a kick in the balls it was probably the final straw for Rafa. I mean, what do they want in charge, a yes man? It seems that you can't even try to press ahead with plans to improve the team without being publicly criticised.

The absolute best case for Rafa is to stay at Liverpool but have the control that Hicks is currently trying to wrestle away from him. He has more chance of achieveing his vision w/Hicks under his thumb than he does having to start from scratch somewhere else.

For that reason he'll work to Hick's timeline, but he will demand and will not back down on total control.
