There are actually 3 or 4 managers which I think could replace Rafa and do equally as good a job and they are always available to a huge club like Liverpool.
I think in my mind Id love Rafa to stay but more than even that I want my club to be run with respect and none of this utter bull**** behaviour we have experienced over the past week or so.
**** you Rafa, **** you Hicks...sort it out or **** off from our club. Get it?!

"We want quality. If that player costs 100 million we will pay it, but we just wont pay silly money for second rate players."

All quotes from the yanks. All hot air. They think we are stupid and a few ****in lines here and there will please us.

Well were not stupid, and luckily we have a manager with the biggest set of bollocks in football who isnt afraid of reminding them of the **** they have said.

Obviuosly there is gonna be only one winner in this, the yanks. But i`m with Rafa all the way.

Alun I have to disagree with your perspective on this my friend.
But, If I could choose an outcome, Rafa stays EVERY SINGLE TIME. I fully expect this to get resolved and for us to push onwards and upwards. But....if this happens before the summer window I am going to have to reassess my commitment to Rafa.
Sort it out behind closed doors guys yeah...

The yanks were the ones who blew this open. Check the interview Hicks gave with the post. It was disgraceful, they treated him with contempt.

You are the manager of a football team and a no mark financier tells you you cannot PLAN to buy OR sell players until he gives the OK. You're gonna be pissed. He then says he won't EVEN talk to you about it until 2 weeks before you need to spend the money. You tell him the deals will be usurped, like what happened with Vidic, and they say whatever.

What would you do? Act stroppy in a PC or ****ing walk. We are VERY lucky Rafa just decided to be immature.

There'll be no debt on the club for the purchase.

I prefer it sorted behind closed doors too. I just don't see how discussing January transfers in mid December makes any sense whatsoever.

And if they don't realise that you have to plan for each transfer window months in advance then this issue will never go away. It WILL happen every transfer window if so.

And in my view Rafa will walk and go to work for a club whose board have a better handle on what it takes to successfully run a football club. And I for one wouldn't blame him.

I've criticised Rafa for many things, as people here will know. On this one, I'm with him 110%.

I'll back the football man over the businessman every time. Let the manager manage.

Agreed. Rafa has to accept a part of the blame. But if it comes as a choice between Rafa and the owners it is Rafa all the way.

Im a Rafa fan myself, truly, but I cant help but think that as this has happened exactly like this before he may be the type to throw his toys from the pram. I completely get that he wants to plan, be amazingly thorough and be the best prepared manager in the world, I get it, but sometimes you cant have what you want and you have to make the best out of the situation. Rafa is one of, if not the, best manager in the world, why not prove it now and with us, despite the americans, not because of them?

why should he when he could go to almost any club in the world and be allowed to plan.

would any manager in any industry continue to work for a company that wouldn't allow them to plan strategically, especially if there were loads of rivals ready to headhunt him and offer him the ability to do his job properly.

sometimes you can't have what you want thats true. but when that something is as fundamental as the ability to plan and strategise, then not being able to have it is something big enough to force a resignation.

personally i would not stay at a club who wouldn't even discuss transfers until 2 weeks before the transfer window. its a hard enough and time consuming enough job without wasting time trying to cover every angle just because your bosses won't talk to you.

why should he have to be successful despite not being able to plan. its nuts. being successful is hard enough. if he is having an arm tied behind his back, we should be turning on the nobheads tying it.

i'm backing rafa on this one completely.

He's being told NOT to do something.

I can understand being told to so x with this much less money. But to be told to NOT do something that you know is necesary for success. Well that is just insane.

I wonder what everyone will be like if Rafa does some crazy rotation thing this lunchtime, makes some bizarre substitutions, and we lose 3-0. *shudders*

God, this forum can be really reactionary at times can't it? Its all a bit loopy if you ask me.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                            Mine angry and defrauded young?

I think we can make one thing clear, no Masch means no Rafa.
I'm not no sure Mascherano is the issue. We have him on loan until next June and we have 1st option to purchase him. Surely waiting until the united game will not jeopardise this agreement?
