Anyone know more about this planned protest ? I think us supporters (those at Anfield) should do something about it. We must show these americans who's in power and that Rafa has our unconditional backing.

Unfortunately, money rules in this world.

Isn't the story sounds similar to Maureen saga. First indication is not giving cooperation on transfer dealings. Then, they will sack you when you can't deliver the results.

They picked the meeting date with a lot of thoughts. By then, Rafa could fail to lead the team to 2nd Stage of Champions League.

Even if Rafa managed to pull it off, he will need to deliver the League Trophy or Champion League at the end of the season.

It never pays to rant at your boss in the public.

                  Rafa,

You will always have my full support. You have done a lot to ensure Liverpool can compete in the next 15 years. Unfortunately, G&H or just H are blinded by your rant.

                  Sigh!

Hopefully, there will be a WHITE KNIGHT to come save you by buying shares off G&H.

                    Monday's Daily Mirror:

                    Dave Maddock

Liverpool's owners have again refused to back manager Rafa Benitez, pushing him one step closer to the exit door.

Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett insisted yesterday that they intend to do nothing about the crisis at Anfield until they arrive on Merseyside on December 16.

And that has offered the Spanish coach the faintest glimmer of a chance of staying on at the club, by producing the results which will force the co-owners to rethink their position.

It has become increasingly clear over the weekend that Benitez (above) has lost the faith of the Americans, and after his latest outburst on Saturday - when he made it clear he would not accept merely being a coach without any transfer responsibility - it seemed he was doomed.

And Hicks and Gillett added to that sense of impending departure, when they refused to get behind the manager, in a statement that read: "Despite speculation there is nothing new to say.

"We had a good win yesterday, and have some very important games coming up.

"Both of us along with Chief Executive Rick Parry plan to meet with Rafa when we come over in mid-December to make decisions on the team's requirements at that time."

Both sides are entrenched in a crisis that threatens to rip Anfield apart.

It seems the Spanish coach will be now left to sweat, with the Anfield owners refusing to give him any more transfer funds as they ponder a change at the top.

But if they keep their word and make no decisions on his future until December, that will allow Benitez the chance to take Liverpool into the knock-out stages of the Champions League, as well as to beat arch rivals Manchester United and climb into a challenging position in the Premier League table..

And if he does that - with the support he can rely on from the Liverpool fans - it could make it far more difficult for the Americans to sack him, a plan it appears they were initially ready to pursue at the end of this season.

Rafa has not done himself any favours here. Every question now will be about the owners, him, the funds in January and the games almost become a side-issue which, whilst in the short-term might ease the pressure ahead of some huge matches, will soon become tiresome and a distraction.

I may not be his biggest fan but I certainly do not want Rafa to leave now, I want him to have until the end of the season at the very least, longer if we have signs of genuine progress come May (not 3rd and 10-15 points adrift). I also do not think giving him a ****load of money in January is particularly smart. Mascherano is a tricky one but personally I think 17M is a little on the pricey side. I also think it's entirely sensible to wait until our Champions League fate is decided before going on any kind of spending spree.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If these idiots think the manager is just an employee, it is an insult to Rafa, an insult to Liverpool, and an insult to the memories of Shanks and Bob.

To come to a new league and a new team and take them to 2 European Cup Finals in 3 seasons, and winning one, is an achievement that will probably never be matched again. It still amazes me that he doesn't get the credit he deserves for that. This season we are having a difficult time in the group stages and somehow it's a disaster. Personally I think it's a bigger disaster that, having reached 2 of the last 3 European Cup Finals the increase in promoting and marketing the club, and therefore increase in revenue seems to have amounted to nothing. Do you think that would have happened with United, Arsenal or Chelsea?

As for the league, he said this is the year we must push for the title, now it is almost the end of November, we are 3 points behind United (who are still favourites to win the league) with a game in hand, undefeated, have the best away record in the league and have played less home games than all of our rival. Still he gets criticism when we draw or when we destroy a team it's inevitably because they are useless.

Rafa is the most important manager we have had since our days of dominating the league. He is continously spoken of as a cagey, defence first manager, yet we have scored a lot of goals this season, scored often in the final few minutes, and drubbed sides on numerous ocassions.

These owners need to step back or they will destroy this great club of ours.

It looks like G&H are waiting on Rafa to resign so they don't need to sack him and take all the blame themselves. If they think that would save even 1% of their asses then they are dead wrong.

Hicks himself have proved with his statement that he isn't exactly the most intelligent man on the planet.

We'll be set back a few years if G&H sack Rafa.
