The secret to why Lucas will be successful was shown when he kicked the ball out of play in the second half! Sounds mad but he played the ball in front of Finnan for him to run onto , rather than making him stop to receive the ball which is the difference between fluid football and stop start football. The fact that Finnan actually decided not to run caused the ball to go out , but if all our passes where played for someone to run on to we'd play a lot better.

Amazing signing for a very low price.

        No, that's Maestro
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

There's no conspiracy - if you hardly do anything then you won't get mentioned. Ask Alonso!

He could do with beefing up a little as his passing is a bit soft and he does get shrugged off the ball sometimes but that'll come by the end of the season.

I just hope people don't start to berate him in the same way for the doing the simple things well.

People said the same about Ronnie Whelan when he was playing, I don't think you understand football mate.

Howard mate he was chronic in the first half reminded me of Traore on a bad day.
2nd half he was better but he couldn't have got worse.

Lucas Leiva was immense today - I was so impressed with him and he seems to be adapting so quickly to the PL. How is Rafa going to get Mascher, Xabi and Gerrard in the same team with this lad looking so good? Someone will not be happy.

I think he has better vision and passing than Alonso but Xabi is still the more complete player.
