Well folks what a week we have had. From the Comedy in Wembley to the Tragedy in Texas. How we have ended up here today in apparent Melt Down crisis mode boggles the mind. If you had told me a week ago we would be seriously discussing the merits of one Rafael Benitez getting canned from Liverpool Fc I would have told you to lay of the sauce and stop hanging around with the great unwashed. Yet rationality to one side here we are seriously discussing it. Call me paranoid but it always seems to me just when we are pulling ourselves out of some Meyer, some emergency will set in out of the blue.
Here we are with major season shaping players coming back from injury, still unbeaten in the Lg coming into the Christmas run and about to play the Mancs at home and all Hell breaks lose. I am counting the days till the required standard Ferguson is still serious about Gerrard and how he could solve Man Uniteds Mid Field woes. Which ever way you slice it, what has gone on this week has been nothing but a colossal PR **** up on enormous scales. For me, I want all connected with the club to do their talking in there respective areas. Its quite simple, the players need to do there talking on the Pitch, The Manager needs to do his talking with our Trophy cabinet and the owners need to do there talking with there chq book and the our bottom line.
Each week I would like a quick heads up from Rafa on whos in whos out and how things are in general and after that complete and utter radio silence. The only time I want to hear from our owners is how happy they are to be bringing the title back to Liverpool, how happy they are at opening the new stadium or when they have to Can a manager not before or afterwards, other than that zip it. The press do indeed hate us, we provide them with pages upon pages of kak space to fill there substandard collections of drivel. Lets not feed them moving forward.
If Rafa wants to have a pop in the press, let him, that is what football managers have been doing since year zip. Its expected if not slightly annoying but it is not expected of owners. Lets all stick our collective fingers up at the press and tell them all to **** off. They have been on a Rafa witch hunt for as long as I can remember. Banging on about his rotation policy and failing to mention Demento rotates overall nearly just as much, Banging on about Zonal marking yet conveniently forgetting about it when it produces the best defensive record in the land consistently, banging on about playing Gerard on the right when the stats show he does a lot of damage from there. Its never ending, anything Liverpool spank a team its because the other team played ****e not because we were magnificent. We break the champions lg record for goals scored and it was so quite on the western front you could hear a fish fart, now if that had of been Arsenal, Jesus make way for the Second Coming of The Football Messiah.
We as a club have done a lot of things right since Rafa has come on board, including bringing G&T on board, it would be sheer lunacy and almost suicidal to engage in this speculation circus which has descended on Anfield our Manner .
I just hope lessons have been learnt over the pass week, a siege mentality has been developed in the dressing room, those ****ers are worried we could be the real deal this season and the media knifes are coming out and the next time a microphone is shuffed in G or T’s face, the only thing I want to hear coming from them perhaps with a wry smile…… No Comment ….. ideally no ****ing comment !
