    Rafa coy on exit rumours
Benitez refuses to be drawn on Liverpool future

Rafa Benitez has delivered another guarded press conference ahead of Liverpool's crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Porto on Wednesday.

The Spanish tactician has been caught in a media storm over the past week following a spat with the club's owners over transfer policy at Anfield.

It has been reported that Benitez is working on borrowed time at Liverpool after he voiced his misgivings concerning owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett's unwillingness to sanction transfer activity before they arrive on Merseyside for the clash with Manchester United on 16th December.

Unsurprisingly, it was the face-off between Benitez and his paymasters that occupied the thoughts of the media present, but he is remaining steadfastly tight-lipped over his future.

    Tight-lipped

"Before you start asking, for all the media here as Liverpool football club's manager, I know this is the most important thing for the club," he told Sky Sports News.

    "I will talk of Porto.

"I am sure that we will win and I am sure that we will play well so I am always thinking of winning the next game. And then I will think to win against Bolton.

"No distractions. We are thinking of Porto and nothing else.

"You can ask but I will talk only of Porto," he answered, when quizzed on whether he had met with chief executive Rick Parry.

"We will be thinking about Porto. We were talking because we talk a lot of the time but we were talking about Porto. The game."

Mate, you're scenarios are as realistic as Harry Potter .

But the biggest load of cack thus far is your list of players who will leave the club once Rafa is inevitably sacked. I had to laugh at Gerrard's inclusion...to be honest mate, if there's one player who I reckon would DEFINITELY stay if Rafa was sacked, it would be Stevie. No matter what he says in the press my gut feeling is that although he respects Rafa I don't think he'd be that upset if he left. In fact players get over manager's departures very quickly because if they don't they find themselves out of the side.

The thing I do object to is them heaping their personal loans from the takeover onto the club (if they do go down this route which appears likely)

They did afterall promise that the finance of this purchase wouldnt be like the Glazer deal didnt they?
The last point is very much a mark against them if it is the way it works. I will however not condemn them yet. It is perfectly reasonable criticism to attack the way they came in said a lot of things when it is clear that best case scenario they were not yet set in stone.

as long as their ambitions are matched, their bank accounts are stuffed and their girlfriends are content enough with the local shopping malls then they're fine. in whatever order you wanna put that list

Guys, the aggressiveness against AFII is getting ridiculous & boring. It's his style of posting and you all know him for years and he isn't even English. Give him the benefit of the doubt FFS. All that you'd do is piss him off of this site due to this constant bashing. It's not even tongue in cheek the way you're pissing him off.

No one is bashing him. So in your opinion AFII can say whatever he wants and some people will have their opinions swayed by him and because it is AFII we can't argue the points. All we are doing is arguing, he puts more in and we argue those. It is a forum and we are allowed to have a diff opinion, have I insulted or been offensive in any of my posts?

Haven't pointed the finger at you mate. There's some people who've quite ridiculed him, that's all. I do think it's the way he expresses himself which makes everything so dodgy.

His English is better than most on here. I hardly ever give AFII grief, I like the lad but I can see why he pushes people over the edge. Some of his doomsday scenarios are just ridiculous and now definitely isn't the time to irritate people.

This quote shows what Rafa thinks of journos. He had to be precise because next story they would run would be that he has alcohol problem talking about wine before very important game.

I can understand that mate put we should all chill out. Everyone is contributing to some bickering feud and it's no good arguing amongst ourselves.

Sorry for being a little bit over the top.

Posting doomsday scenarios about which players are going to leave doesn't help people chill out fredo. It actually stirs the pot.

We should already know it's his style of posting. The ignore button is handy for that.

At the end of the day, it's just a football game in the end. I doubt we'd be able to change things if ever these clowns do want to sack him.
