Not long ago H&G were claiming Rafa to be a genius ! What's gone wrong ? I think that's a clear lack of communication and the ****ty press flaming it all over.

I thought it might be all one word

Aimed at me or not, you made a completely unnecessary, pointless comment in the middle of this thread.... and now MrMichael has more posts to delete.

I still think that the problem is not at Rafa's end but that he has potentially really upset the owners and they may take his seeming disrepect badly. I hope that in the long run they see that he has the best interests of the club and their business as a consequence in mind. It is clear though that something has to change - I just hope it is a reorganisation of the financial side of the club rather than the sacking of Rafa.

I guess there is a good chance that once we have sorted the refinancing of the debt both sides will have more room for maneuver .
The problem is that anyone taking over a business will want to improve it and unless the mgmt quickly prove successful, will want to bring their own team in to do a better job. I suspect that H&G's record is no different in this.

I still wonder why Parry is still here. He is only doing the job Rafa should do, very strange.

We would save some money if we sacked him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

He's still here because Moores made sure he'd be.

                    O rly?

Rafa should be doing Rick Parry's job?

                    Now that's just silly.

                        He started it!

                        Sorry though, my bad.

Useful demonstration of how hostile and cliquey (not 'the clique', just cliquey in the traditional sense of the word ) this forum can be to relative strangers.

Lots of random **** threads, I comment on what appears to be the worst wondering why the hell it's survived, and it's the only worthwhile thread

I don't understand why it is so difficult to organise a meeting with all the technology available.

                            Telephone
                            Video Conferencing

If they are worried about the cost, they could always Skype each other or use MSN Instant Messenger.

So, assuming that the row has been smoothed over, at least until the end of the season, where are we now?

Reports seem to be suggesting that the owners are still unconvinced that Rafa is the man to win the league Rafa needs to either win the league (or go damn close), or win the European Cup (or go damn close) to save his job.

After four seasons, a realistic title challenge was always going to be the minimum required to keep his job anyway though? Wasn't it?*

*for what it's worth, I think we will go very, very close this year and his job will be safe. We were very Valencia-esque on Saturday. One stat on posession in the last 10 minutes had us at 88% at one stage! They couldn't get a kick.
