I don't think Gerrard would stay for example. He want to win the league and I don't think he would be prepared to stay to witness yet another rebuilding process.

Some of the players mostly joined the club because of Rafa so they would also probably leave.

If I would make a guess to which of the players that would be prepared to leave then it would be....

All of them would probably not leave but all of them would consider if they should stay or not.

But it is not only Rafa walking that comes into it, as it will also put a hold on our chances of winning anything, for a couple of years or so imo.

It depends who will come in and how much backing the new manager will get IMO.

If G&H won't to keep our big stars then they would have to get a big name manager and back him in the transfer market.

This is Rafa's team built to suit his tactics and players that will back him on the pitch. Not any big headed players like Ronaldo or Drogba.

I doubt that players like Torres, Aurelio, Sissoko, Alonso, Reina, Arbeloa, Mascherano and Lucas would have joined us if we had another manager than Rafa for example.

You could say the same about some players at Arsenal or Man U. Fabregas for example would leave as soon as possible if Wenger would leave.

Some players joins the club because of the manager and not because the club are Liverpool, Man U or Arsenal.

Changing the manager in the position that we, as a team, and as a club are presently in, is ludicrous in the extreme basically.
So you're right - anything could happen if Rafa leaves.
As I said yesterday though on another thread, I think people overestimate the bond between players and managers. They also forget about players' lives outside of football...i.e. if their family is settled and happy etc.
Who knows what could happen? Let's hope it's a moot point in any case.
