Bloody hell. A bit melodramatic don't you think? This kind of **** happens from time to time, suck it up and get the **** on with it.

The unfortunate state of football at the moment does not permit us to have a scouse-owned, completely grassroots football team, but the club is BIGGER than this ****. Something's up at the moment, clearly. But all the people who were lining up at the nearest cliff during the summer when we were apparently about to implode are probably quite pleased with our position in the Prem and hopefully still going the match and supporting the side. I refuse to accept that the "club has changed forever", as if we are "just another football club", we are Liverpool Football Club, and if you don't recognise that anymore after a spot of trouble at the weekend then you probably don't have anywhere near the nerve to support a club like this.

Of course it will, its business!

The idea of replacing Raffa with Mourinho is a joke. All just paper talk and hype.

        The guy starts fights
Spends hundereds of millions on old players
        Plays **** football
Would be hated by the fans.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
          Mine angry and defrauded young?

I don't think Mourinho would take the job in this climate either. He doesn't need another fight with the board.

I think he meant IF Rafa loses his job over this, while still unbeaten and still in the hunt for the title (and especially if he was to be replaced by The Portuguese Mouth), then we will have become just another club.

And I’d agree. Liverpool FC just don’t do that sort of thing. Never have done.

After Rafa’s apparent olive branch today, I think he can ride this storm and, come May, leave the Yanks in a position where even the notion of sacking Benitez would be truly laughable, and vantage's post will have been rendered pointless.

The only thing that mattered to the Yanks from day one was the money and the unlocked potential for more and more and more...

Credit squeeze aside LFC made a leap (of faith) with G&H and ultimately one that may well cost LFC its tradition and good name. Americans love money and will stoop to anything to get it and I worry that our embarrassment is only just beginning!

This was my argument. Terms like "We are just another football club" carry too much of a sense of inevitability for me, and I don't reckon it is worth thinking along those lines at all at the moment.

We are still in a position to keep our manager and, as you say, Rafa seems to have calmed down. If the Yanks have any business nouse whatsoever, they will meet with Rafa, sort this **** out, and he can get back to concentrating on coaching his team

I can't accept that Shaggy. We may well get out of this, with Rafa still at the helm, but to see it being played out in the press like a bad episode of Eastenders pisses me off big time.

                        It's faaamily, innit?

Yes I see your point mate, and it’s not something we’re used to – but personally I would only think we’d started to ‘become just another club’ when we sack a manager for being unbeaten and (potentially) just 3 points behind the leaders.

If the yanks sack RAfa, we should take out a ****ing contract on the cunts. Unbelievable.

And just how close to that have been, over the weekend?

And George and Tom should shut up and conduct any bollockings behind the scenes, not through the press.
I feel let down by Rafa over this business. He has let his frustrations get in the way of Liverpool football club, though maybe he was at the point of walking out and decided to have his say before he left to see if anything changed rather than when it was all too late. Whatever, his comments came across as childish. I would hate to lose him. If that were to happen I think we can postpone indefinitely any thoughts of #19.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.
