I'm not so sure it is that good news in the long run. What it shows in all likelyhood is that Rafa wants to stay and his statements have always led me to believe that anyway. In particular his statement that 'everone had the best interests of the club at heart' this weekend indicated he would be willing to compromise. The problem is that if what has been said about his plans is correct then he was right and the bes interests of the club were to follow his plan. Also his backing down is only a good sign if the owners tyake it as an act of contrition large enough to make them not want to sack him.
