Seriously though, why are you attacking the owners? There is absolutely no proof that they have lied about anything or that 'they've ****ed us over' for that matter.

IMO the protest is about showing support for Rafa and letting everyone know how important he is to us, it's not about slagging off our new owners. Well it isn't for me anyway.

Having a go at the owners could make the situation worse for Rafa. We should support him and use the banners shown already and keep it like that.

He`s only there as a fan.
There is no way he`s good enough to take any position at LFC.
I can`t imagine any player at Viking that would interest Rafa either.

Aha! Good they will be paying attention:

Let’s kop it to Porto – Rafa

Nov 28 2007 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

RAFA BENITEZ today urged Liverpool fans to recreate the atmosphere of Chelsea in 2005 at tonight’s crunch Champions League match with Porto – and to support the team, not him.

The Reds boss does not want any distractions from the job in hand as Liverpool go in search of the win which will take them to within one more victory of guaranteeing qualification for the knockout stages.

And he believes the Anfield crowd can power his team to victory against the Portuguese champions, just as they did against Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final two and a half years ago.

He said: “It is all about the club and the fans.

“We would like to hear the same noise that was made in the semi-final against Chelsea in 2005 and the one last season because that was fantastic.

“When we play at Anfield it is always easier for the players because they just have to go to the pitch and hear the supporters and it is enough to motivate them.

“I'm sure that the players will play at the maximum level because when you have the supporters behind you, you cannot do anything else.”

An online petition calling on Benitez to stay as Reds boss was up to 22,500 signatures this morning. The petition was launched on Sunday when the war of words between Benitez and the club’s American owners was at its height.

Since then Benitez has adopted a more placatory stance, but a demonstration in support of the beleaguered boss is due to take place at Anfield tonight.

Foster Gillett is due to attend the match, while owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks will watch the game live on satellite in the USA.

Benitez's planning for the game suffered a blow when Daniel Agger was again ruled out having not fully recovered from the metatarsal injury he suffered in early September.

But the Reds boss is confident his team can absorb that blow, especially with Saturday's resounding 3-0 win over Newcastle still fresh in the memory.

He said: "Newcastle was one of the best away games that we have played because we had control of everything.

"The players really enjoyed the game because they were very comfortable with the ball. We need to keep this confidence.

"We are creating chances and scoring goals, but we are also keeping clean sheets which is really important."

When the two sides last met in Portugal in the first game of the group stages, Liverpool came away with a creditable 1-1 draw, despite having to play most of the second half with ten men following the sending off of Jermaine Pennant.

Benitez is looking for a better all round performance from his team than on that night and he believes playing at Anfield will make all the difference.

He said: "In Porto we started really badly but managed to get a point which was a good result, especially as we played part of the game with ten players.

Now we are playing at Anfield, we know we have to make sure we don't make mistakes because they have quality."
No! I am NOT in denial!

He played for Southampton, Blackburn and Rangers.
A decent player in his day, he was even linked to us.

                                Battle Cry!

To all the reds going to the game tonight this is a battle cry.

                                The whole world is watching.

Tonight is the night that we stand up for what we believe. Tonight is the night that we show our new owners and our CEO what being a Liverpool fan is all about. We are fighting for something we belive in someone we believe in. Our manager needs us just as much as we needed him when he joined in 2004. He's brought so much joy to our hearts lets show him how much he means to us. Lets show our Yank owners that we will not take this lying down.

It's a battle we may not win but lets not go down without a fight. The time has come for Scousers, Wools and Skando's to unite and show to the world what LFC and our manager mean to us.

Make yourself heard and sing until you can't sing anymore.
