Hopefully Hicks will get the boot and Kraft will take his place bringing in extra money and extra support for Rafa.

We will soon find out if he will stay long term or not. If they back him in January then I can't see him being sacked next summer.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

so its just a 'comminication gap' after all that. not what it seemed last week but there you go.

too early to slag off hicks although the spotlight does fall on parry/foster now doesnt it. surely there role is to a) make sure all the key people are on the same wavelength and b) be in the know about the transfer plans.

if it is that simple, it really should not have been played out in public tho. Thats a negative against both rafa and hicks for me.

lets hope it dies down shortly and we keep up our run.

I'd rather he concentrates on discussing the football and leaves the politics to be talked about behind closed doors.

I know what you mean but I have a belief that Rafa is a master of the media and he will not make a mistake. He did however push his station too far but he has been quick to resurrect his position. It will not be hard for the club to orchestrate a win/win result from this now IMO.

To me that equals a better chance of Rafa staying.

Thats the angle I'm taking anyway cos it makes me feel better

I love these Spanish radio interviews, they are always less guarded than when Rafa speaks to the British press. He seems very relaxed about the whole situation here, which clams my fretted nerves a little.

On a side note - I would have to say that the Spanish players unfortunately seem far more intelligent when interviewed than their English counterparts. Alonso, Reina (although sometimes he has been too cocky ahead of big matches), Garcia and Torres have always came across very well in interviews so far.

They were concerned with financing for the new stadium and rising coast, and obviously didnt want to sanction anything until they knew their financial situation. If there had been more contact, maybe they would have understood what was going on with transfers better.
What's global warming got to do with it?!?

Are they really arguing over Hummers do you think?!?

Completely disagree. While the spanish lads do come across very well in my opinion so do the rest of the team.
Carragher interviews are amazing because he is so knowledgeable and stevie, whilst always looking a miserable git, always speaks sense.
Tell me why you think the british members of our team are less intelligent than the spanish ones?

I think that the Spanish contingent were largely selected for their game intelligence and so it is less than surprising that they sound intelligent in interviews. Having said that the most interesting interviews always come from Carra - who is a great thinker on the game and very opinionated as well as being passionate.

Gerrard talks sense but it is mostly a sort of political, uninteresting form of sense and he looks miserable nearly all the time. He did however crack a smile a couple of times in his post match interview yesterday.

Yep fair play, must agree about Carra lads, he is a real student of the game, and knows his football more than probably any other player in the squad. He is also very honest in interviews.

I guess im just disappointed that footballers in general, and in particular english players, tend to rehash the same old cliches. It would be great to hear some insightful tactical information about the game, they must be more intelligent than they come across surely?

The interview was very interesting but Rafa's version of events is too simplistic to be 100% true. We haven't come to a civil war between the managers & and the owners over a misunderstanding.

If the whole issue is purely about transfers etc in January then there is hope but if the issue is more long term then Rafa's still going to be sacked in my view. I just feel G&H didn't want to sanction any transfer activity because they feel Rafa won't be here next season so whats the point in letting him bring in new players.

Until G&H come out and positively back Rafa then I am still very fearful for his & the clubs future.

this will be sorted, Rafa and the yanks will get toether and iron things out, if Hicks is a hot head he'll have had plenty of time to cool down by then, we'll then go out and **** the mancs, and then bring in the players we wanted
