    Reina

    Finnan Carra Agger Arebloa

    Gerrard Alonso Masher Kewell

    Crouch Torres

Only Torres from this seasons signings would make my strongest XI.

I think Crouch has to play up front with Torres, just his presence on the pitch worries defenders and creates space for others to play in
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Actually a Nice side if all can stay fit

With some nice backup players too. Rafa has done wonders
        I like that team.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

          Reina
          Finnan-Carra-Agger-Arbeloa
          Gerrard-Mascherano-Alonso-Kewell
          Torres-Crouch

Subs: Charlie, Yossi, Lucas, Babel, Riise

That would be my "strongest" match-day team. I still would rather have Gerrard on the right than Yossi or Babel (or Pennant). Yossi, Babel and Lucas I think can have an impact off the bench, whilst Riise is there in case Harry gets another injury .

MY TEAM IS AS FOLLOWS -

            ----------------Pepe
            Finnan - Carragher - Agger - Arbeloa

            Stevie - Masch - Alonso - Kewell

            -----------Torres - Kuyt

Reason behind stevie being wide right is that so far Babel hasnt done it for me out wide, better up front, and we have no one else good enough, kewell can play wide right but we then need 2 of him!
Kuyt ahead of crouch because whilst kuyt seemingly looks toothless at present I firmly believe that the work he does ensures Torres has a bagful of chances/space.

Amazing that Alonso and Agger make everyones list and they have managed only 6 games each this season.

The way we are playing at the moment, with no internationals for quite a while, Harry regaining his fitness and those two to return, makes me think we have a lot to be excited about for the remainder of the season.

Of his 10 goals for the club so far, 4 have been scored with Kuyt on the pitch, 6 have been scored with him not on the pitch.

Though admittedly if Torres had been more clinical last Saturday that number would be more balanced .

put that in your pipe and smoke it.
that's the one for me. Been really impressed with Babel recently. I think playing just behind Torres in a floating position offering support to the midfield as a forward outlet and as a secondary striker for Torres.

                    I should have said Torres/whoever.
I really think Kuyts work makes a lot of space for others to run into, he drives me crazy insane at times but when I calm down I think I can see what he brings and how it benefits the team.

That said id have Villa over him any day of the week!!

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

All this thread proves is that we dont have a best XI which is exactly how Rafa wants it. There are obviously players that everyone would pick, but even then there are still 3 or 4 positions that people would disagree on. Thats why are team selection is so varied and why it must be very difficult for opposing manager to work on a gameplan to stop us, they never know which players they are going to come up against or how we are going to play.

That will easily revert to 4-4-2 and then leave Gerrard in the second strikers position in which he becomes inneffective.

No it won't, but it will easily revert to 4-3-3.

gerrard doesn't have to be second striker could easilly go left or right of midfield with babel pushing up
