If were were to get a really mobile goalscorer to play alongside Torres he would be even better imho. It will be interesting to see who we get in Jan / Summer if indeed Crouch or Kuyt or both moves on.

Anelka's name always comes up - but he simply doesn't score enough goals for me. 5 goals in half a season for us last time - but that WAS in a Houllier side, granted. if we could have a front 4 of:

Torres
AN Other class goalscorer (of the class of Villa, Eto'o, Fowler, Owen)
Anelka
Crouch

that wouldn't be a bad 4 to have up front. Babel & Kewell as emergency cover.

Agree with Al that we could do with another top striker. If we brought in a Aguero/Villa/Eto'o type we'd really be cooking.

If we keep Gerrard and Torres fit all season then we'll go really close, at worst.

His change of pace is fantastic, and he knows that he beat defenders with it.

If he can stay fit for several seasons he will be a fitting heir to the goal scoring throne at Liverpool

I still think we need the following in January:

Proper Winger (either side I don't mind - left probably more of a problem)
Top class goalscoring striker
Centre Half (though it was good to see Hobbs slot in today)
Left Back (if Insua is not ready to step up)

I think we need all the players you say but not in jan, a new LB that can cover in the middle will do me just fine, and the permanent signing of Mascherano funded by the sale of Carson and Riise. Aside from that, I think we'll get by till the summer, and another Torres and Babel type set of purchases will be fantastic

I'd sell Momo, and 1 of Crouch / Voronin / Kuyt along with Carson & Riise to fund the Masher deal and the others. Chiellini would be an obvious choice - so Chiellini, someone of the class of Villa / Eto'o (although Anelka would do right now) and someone like Mancini would be my choice.
