Yeah, if he was sure we were going to build the HKS design he would have siad we will build the stadium we released plans to in August and have planning permission for, not "We remain absolutely committed to the building of a new stadium which will improve on the original design inherited by Tom Hicks and George Gillett when they came into the club."
That is the key statement, they do not know what design they are going to build.

Thats as clear as day that the new anfield we have all been getting so excited over isn't gonna happen.

Just an improvement on the original design to make it bigger in the same old "bowl" type stadium.

The dollar/pound exchange rate doesn't really effect any of this. It would if G&H were spending any of their own money on the club or if they were paying the loan repayments out of their own pocket but they're not - it's the club that will be paying for their purchase of the club and the club that will be paying the repayments on the stadium.

They will be taking out their loans on this side of the Atlantic (if they have any sense) in either Pounds or Euros. The club earns it's money in pounds (domestic earnings) and euros (european earnings). The club then makes repayments in those currencies. The value of the dollar does not enter the equation.

Reading between the lines, Parry's statement seems to completely back up what RS4 has said. Parry says the club is committed to building a stadium which is an improvement on the original AFL design - so basically this could mean the HKS one (he could have expressly confirmed that we're proceeding with this design but he didn't), or more likely just a refined design of the original AFL one. Like you say, Parry has left it open-ended.

I agree fully with this, except to say that I will only live with the oval stadium if it is a vast improvement on the original design and it is unique, distinctive and specific to us.

Like you suggest though, this would not have been nearly as bad if they didn't dangle the carrot of those spectacular HKS designs in front of us and now seemingly snatch them away. Huge PR disaster IMO.

I look at clubs like Arsenal, who just get on with it, and built their new ground for huge expense without much funfair and I'm actually jealous. I hate them, but I accept that clearly they are very professionally run. Compare to us on the other hand. We're run by clowns, and having new owners has done nothing to change that.

Sorry mate, not having any of it. Think it's been blown out of all proportion, yes he threw a strop in public, but what's happened since then? Nothing. No sacking, as we were told by those "with contacts" that it was imminent.

By the way I was well within my right to have a pop at Rafa for the Reading game, I thought he binned it, picked a team/stupid formation, and we lost. I though it was bang out of order, and I'm right behind him, support him 100%, but it was a complete debacle that could've been avoided with some common sense.

And I think Kuyt isn't good enough for LFC, but unlike the criticism of the yanks, I base my criticism on what I see on the pitch, not on third hand rumours off some net wannabee, or a certain turncoat journo I could mention.
