    That would be nice.
To be honest, I don't think dubai would want any dealings with Mores again, on principle alone.
We don't know anything about the rumours either, if they are true or not about G & H wanting to sell. I doubt they have seriously considered it yet to be honest. Unless they were to get a big profit, and something tells me DIC wouldn't be too fond of giving G & H a big return on their investment after having their bid accepted a year ago and then gazumped by G & H. You would just have to hope really that G & H would want to cut their losses and decide that they have tried at the wrong time to take control of Liverpool.

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

The thing is though mate he is a puppet on a string, the only thing Moores can do now is speak out against them and he is far to polite/spineless to do that. The best thing for DIC to do is publically say they would be interested and then do a negative PR job on G+H.

WHY WOULD DAVID MOORES OR ANYBODY ELSE WANT TO DRAG THIS GREAT CLUB OF OURS THRU THE MUD. ITS NOT THE WAY WE DO THINGS AT LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB, IRRELEVANT WHO THE OWNER/OWNERS ARE.

We would have been made for the future. No doubt about funds, spent or not.
Wrong thread I think you might find.

                It's bloody tedious.

Government yes to Liverpool stadium plan

Jan 8 2008 Nick Coligan Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL FC were today told the stadium plan they shelved last month could be built on Stanley Park.

Government minister Hazel Blears confirmed she would not “call in” the futuristic proposal approved by councillors last year for further investigation.

But her decision came three weeks after the club’s American owners ditched the scheme because costs had spiralled to more than £400m.

George Gillett and Tom Hicks ordered a redesign of the club’s original ground scheme after taking over at Anfield last year.

The second plan was approved by the council, but it had to be rubber-stamped by the government before work could start.

Liverpool’s latest ground proposals - the third to be drawn up in four years - are being presented to Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry and club owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks in New York tonight. JAN 8

In a letter to the council, Ms Blears said the second plan, which included the Anfield Plaza development on the current stadium site, did not meet the criteria for a call-in.

She said: “Local planning authorities are normally best placed to make decisions relating to their areas.

“It is right that in general, they should be free to carry out their duties responsibly, with the minimum of interference.”

Good news, until G&H/Parry comes up with a different plan tomorrow.

They probably granted permission because they knew we had changed our plans and wanted to look like "good guys".

What if G&H have engineered this, pearl harbour/moon landings/roswell style, so that we would get the necessary permissions?

£180m for the updated design extras? No way...

I'm an Architect, I work in Manchester now & have known people & have worked with ex AFL staff (the people who designed the original ****e stadium)...

In my experience (& I've been a qualified architect for over 10 years now) the design changes are nowhere near £180 worth...

It willl be more expensive; thats inevitable (thanks to the Chinese!) but I'm sure G&H have accounted for this... It will be built & unlike the crap AFL Design it will be uniquely ANFIELD
I would really like to believe your correct, but so far G&H would,nt know what is uniquely Anfield if it FELL ON THEM.

The only thing DIC & The Rusky have in common is MASSIVE wealth, DIC have so much more class, as for buying the league it's what every top club does, the consistently top performers in any league are usually the wealthiest clubs in that league, Barca & Real 'Buy the league' by your definition, they are still held up as 2 of the top clubs in the world, also it just so happens we now have 3 of the richest clubs in the world to compete with in the Premiership, yes we could win A title doing it the right way, but i doubt we could sustain it from then on, its sad i know to say it but sustained success in the top flight of any league only comes by spending big.
