A DECISION on the designs for Liverpool FC's new home will be made in the next two weeks, it was revealed today.

A spokesman for co-owner Tom Hicks said "excellent progress" was made at a meeting with George Gillett and chief executive Rick Parry in New York yesterday to receive presentations from two architectural firms pitching their plans for Stanley Park.

In December a source familiar with the situation said the owners hoped to make a decision by Saturday, January 12.

It now appears that deadline has been put back.

A spokesman for Mr Hicks said: "We made excellent progress on the choice of stadium design and hope to have a final decision in the next two weeks."

    Again, deadlines being put back.

They jumped into this club head first, now they're trying to swim without knowing how to in the first place.

S'only been put back so the two plans under consideration can be "leaked" onto the net and public opinion can be gauged. Then they'll make their decision.

What do you think are the odds for that to happen ? I'd gamble a fair bit of my savings account on that.

Rick 'PLASTIC' Parry: RICK PARRY today pledged Liverpool will make a decision on their long awaited new stadium “soon” following a day of “constructive” meetings with architects in New York.

The Reds chief executive joined club owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett for a series of presentations by rival firms HKS and AFL who are both bidding to win the contract to build the club's new stadium on Stanley Park.

Dallas-based HKS produced a revised version of their original plans which were scrapped last month as the project became simply too expensive for the club to proceed with, while Manchester-based AFL came up with their own proposals as the two firms went head to head.

Both companies were asked to produce a full set of proposals with detailed costings, designs, time scales and planning information.

Parry was impressed by what he saw but the club are not yet willing to put their own timescale on when a final decision will be made.

But he fully believes that whichever option is selected it will produce an “excellent result”.

“It was a very full day,” he said. “We had two very detailed and very informative presentations which were very thorough and extremely professional. It has been another big step forward to finding the best possible solution and the whole meeting was very constructive.

“Everyone is reflecting on what they have heard and a clear decision will be taken soon.

“They were both very good in terms of coming closer to the right solution. As ever, when you have a competition you hope it produces outstanding results and I think that is what we have seen today.

“Whichever we do go with it will be an excellent result.”

Is Dot Cotton still there or is Parry replacing him ?

Again, very constructive statement by Mr. Parry.

So they will make their decision with something like 10 days to sort out how to finance it.

Sounds like they are screaming after someone to help them out.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Were an embarrassment, I'm sick of reading statements from CoCo where the cyunt actually says nothing! The Stadium Fiasco has been like this from the start and here we are again with another.......soon........deadline.

Pathetic, turning the club into a laughing stock and a feeding ground for hacks to stir up bollocks!
                            THE LIVERPOOL WAY!

I think they are right to take a bit of time to decide. They clearly fkd up the previous announcement and we need to make sure we get this one spot on.

I see nothing wrong with putting the decision a couple of weeks.

Everybody seems to be overeacting on here yet again. You are like a bunch of kids waiting for xmas.
                                Oh I don't know.
