Hardly mate- just thought it's be pretty cool to be able to roll right up to the stadium on a specially made train packed full of Reds.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

By the time I'd dropped the wife and daughter and their friends off at the MEN for the 'High School Musical on Ice' bollocks it was gone half six so there were only a few of the lads left.

Anyway... the two directors who did the presentation in NY (I know their names but I won't name them here for obvious reasons) were back today and are very confident that they've got the job as they used a specialist firm to do an expensive and hugely impressive "walk through" presentation (not a Powerpoint presentation as somebody had previously claimed) and apparently it went down really well.

HKS did the morning presentation followed by lunch with G, H & P then AFL did the afternoon presentation followed by an evening meal and a few drinks. Going on second gave them a big advantage as did being able to relax with a few Buds in the evening. AFL's design comes in around £290m inclusive of fit-out (£10m under budget) so HKS have had to radically compromise to get anywhere near as their original plans came in at around £400m plus fit-out.

My mate says the walk-through presentation is amazing and he'll get me a DVD next week (it's too sensitive right now) and we won't be disappointed with the new design which is nothing like the original AFL "Parrybowl".

Whether we go with the AFL or the HKS revised design it sounds like we're getting a great 70,000 seater modern stadium which will be unique and yet won't break the bank so we can still afford to buy some decent players. I'm sure all the usual 'doom & gloom' merchants will carry on moaning like **** but I feel far more positive this evening than I have done for a long time...

That's all for now - sorry there's nothing really new to report but, hey, let's be happy...

Oh, and I had to break my January booze abstention and have a pint of Guinness. The ****ing sacrifices I make for this site...
Thanks for that Iain, all sounds very positive for a change.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Hi everyone, haven't seen this posted yet.

" Hicks is hopeful for a financial restructure and that plans for the new stadium will be released by the end of this week."

Thought I would bump this back up and ask if anyone had any more news yet.

Sorry lads, nothing yet. I sent a text to my contact at AFL yesterday but no response yet. As soon as I hear anything I promise I will post it here first!

Thanks appreciate all you have said on this, it makes a change to have some positive info.

As I said a long time a go if we get nothing else from the current owners but a vastly improved stadium then I will be glad they got involved.

There is nothing to say that if the current flavour of the month DIC had originally purchased the club they would have remodelled the design of the old old new Anfield design.

I got a text back from my mate at AFL during the match to say "Anfield is top secret" which I thought was a bit strange. I suppose it's possible they've been told they've got the job but not to say a word or it could jeopardise things.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it but if they've not been told anything yet I reckon he would have said that. And if they've been told they've not got the job surely AFL wouldn't give a **** if it was kept secret or not?

So if I was a betting man, which I'm not, my Lady Godiva would be on AFL...

Sounds like the owners still don't have the money for it. Or they'd be shouting it from the hill tops.
