I prefer the trees in the new one. The old one seemed to have very little vegetation around the stadium.Originally posted by Helios Creed View PostThe new one is a lot bigger, isn't it?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

When they bought the club, they never said that they would give us a ground at no cost to the club as well. Whether the money to pay the interest on the purchase loan is filtched out somewhere else is another matter...

I like the "new" stadium, not as much as the last hks design but far better than the parrybowl. If, and for me its still if, this gets built then I am happy as its different in a good way and will help us become richer whilst still, hopefully, maintaining the KOP atmosphere.
Bu I still despise the owners and will do until they sell or until they have proven me wrong time after time with new world class signings and success on the pitch. Oh, and less ****ing press disasters. That just about covers my feelings.

On the funding:
What about the naming of the stadium, didn't Arsenal get something in the region of £100mil for the "Emirates?"Last edited by ForeverRed; 25-01-08, 07:22 PM."If it's sent by ship then it's a cargo, if it's sent by road then it's a shipment..."

Top image is the 1st design we were showed last year.
The bottom is the new one

The obvious differences between the 2 can be seen.
*We seem to have lost a row of executive boxes in the main stand.
*Roof designs have changed
*The 2 corner sections supports have been altered. They were a feature, but now just 2 uprights
*More seats in the bottom 2 corners of the Kop

I have seen some pictures on skyscrapercity and the missing boxes in the main stand are now in the opposite stand, originally all boxes were in 1 stand but seem to have been spread. The roof design seem's to be a simplificationand would be responsible for a huge reduction in costs, more seats in the KOP is great and who cares about the supports, I will be there to watch the team not the roof supports. Another change is that other than the KOP the rest of the inside of the stadium is a bowl, they even call it a bowl in the pics.Originally posted by Fowler_God View PostTop image is the 1st design we were showed last year.

I know all the endless pessimism is probably getting a lot of people down but I'll believe all this when I see it. Does anybody know a start date? The Verny's gone. The kids' footy has been moved. They've got planning permission and they've got the money (sort of!?!) When will the process actually begin?I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.
