That is one impressive stadium design from AFL. Doesn't look like it holds 72k, Looks miles bigger!

Disagree. I think it is exactly what it needs to be. The other design is trying so hard to make a statement it's forgotton what it's meant to be which is a football stadium. The more I look at it the less I like it.Originally posted by Skullflower View Postthey look ****ing ****e. no imagination at all. i'd be absolutely gutted if they'd been revealed as the new plans, would have been a huge step down.Dare we believe

Agree entirely. Just like a ****ty ground in Zagreb I seem to recall. Just as generic (Telstra?) as the last crock of ****e!Originally posted by Skullflower View Postthey look ****ing ****e. no imagination at all. i'd be absolutely gutted if they'd been revealed as the new plans, would have been a huge step down.I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

What would be the point of that? The seats would be getting further and further away from the pitch.Originally posted by loco_law View PostMy guess is that the open corners allow for further expansion down the road....

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Not a fan of the revised AFL ones at all. A massive improvement on their original design, but not as imaginative/distinctive/original as HKS, which I much prefer. To me, it still looks far too similar to the new wave of stadiums that are popping up all over the place. Even if it's true that only Hicks preferred the HKS design, then at least he has got one thing right.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Agreed. I still prefer the HKS one - it is more unique imo and has more character.Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostNot a fan of the revised AFL ones at all. Credit to AFL as their images do portray their updated version in a good light. It is definitely still based on their origanl Parry bowl design though. But it has been revamped and I especially liked the glass Kop element. The empty seat view image however, did make it still look like a souless bowl. Although conversely with the fully seated image, it did look quite impressive, especially the Kop (more so than the Kop on the HKS one as it has empty corners next to it?).Bring Back Rafa Cakes
