We got told by Ged Pointyn (or however you spell it) that the new ground would need about another 300 stewards but Im not sure if that was for any particular design. They were/are looking at contracting out the stewarding for the new ground because they dont have enough obviously and cant keep the people they have. I doubt it like but the cost of more stewards may well help decide. 300 more stewards at (on average) £30 a time, plus the 450 already is a lot of money. Maybe the HKS one only does need an extra hundred so it'd be chaeper from that side. But i suppose if youre talking millions then those amounts prob wont effect it.

My architect buddy reckons that 80metres is the maximum allowable under some rules or regulations (not sure if the rules are FIFA's or more to do with RIBA construction standards or something). Basically this means that the back of the Kop will be unusable (unless they rework the design) thus it might not hold 18,500 fans as they've claimed.

Also, there is a large triangular addition to the stadium (top right on the picture below) that wasn't in the original plans and doesn't seem to do anything! It could possibly be a small multi-storey car park which would replace the much larger underground car park that has been sacrificed to get HKS's proposed build cost down by over £100m to be close to AFL's £290m.

Looking at the internal shots it doesn't look like the Kop goes all the way back , to me it looks like some of it is frontage.
        We come not to play.

Still think that one is the dogs bollocks compared to the other modified Emirates, even if it looked even more impressive on the first outing.

It is to replace the local sports facilities that are being knocked down - seen the detailed plans from the original stadium design.

              750 x £30 is "only" £22,500 a game. What's that, just over a fifth of Gerrard's weekly wage?

If Arsenal's stadium is supposed to be making a million pounds a game that's not really much in the grand scheme of things.

at least the away fans get a lot of space! lol
is that from the HKS website?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                  * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

is that one gate entry alone or all in matchday revenue, programmes food beers etc??

****in hell of a lot though.....
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

I think it includes everything. I'm not actually sure what the figure is but I think I'd read that it's around that.

No doubt someone will correct me!

Man Yoo have been making that kind of dough for donkeys years now, hence they are so rich and thus are able to buy the best players.

Moores and Parry were so inept.

Hi RS4 actually mate if you look at the original floor plans this trianglar area is the sports centre replacing the one pulled down. This will include changing rooms, squash courts, a cafe and offices for the running of the external pitches etc. This will enable access into this area almost as a self contained part of the stadium.

Also on your point about the distance from the back of the Kop to the centre Circle.......the Seats do not go all the way to the back of the design, you're not taking into account. The Museum, Club Shop, Offices, changing rooms, and all the press areas which are also situated within the KOP. These reach back further than where the seats stop also taking into acount their rake.

bad foresight on moores behalf. if we built the stadium 7 years ago. we would be in better position (obviously). sure there would be debt on the club for the stadium, prob only half the amount though and maybe only 15 million a year interest rate and 150m for the actuall cost of building it. we would be competing by now though with the scum in the transfer market.

ok so maybe moores couldnt see it but surely there are financial controlers consultants that should have seen this way before now.

from my ownpersonal dealings with inflation, i have never seen it go down

the longer it remains un-started the more expensive it becomes by the day IMO of course

That seating plan is from the original design which was set up for further expansion at the away end. I think there was only around 5K seats planned which can be seen on that layout.

I've just downloaded & read the BS EN 13200-1:2003 'Spectator facilities. Layout criteria for spectator viewing area' from our Architectural Database... doesnt mention 80m - in fact the max distance is around 190m

If any of you (boring *******s) wants a read I can send it to 'em

Actually looking at it in detail its 190m min from the furthest corner so 80m from the sideline may well be right...
