Basically our summer transfer fund is already down by £17m and that's before we've brought anyone new into the club. That would otherwise cause me concern to be honest, because as great as Mascher is (and he is great and I think we'd be mad not to make the transfer permanent irrespective of the cost) there are key areas in our team/squad where we need to strengthen. But as I mentioned earlier, the departure of the likes of Carson and Sissoko should swell the coffers sufficiently to allow us to go out and buy another couple of players in Jan or the summer, irrespective of the big outlay we'll hopefully be making imminently on Mascher.
I don't care if he eats up all our summer transfer budget, the guy needs signing up end of story. he is to good to let go

Rafa should have at least £20m-£30m left in summer transfer budget even if we sign Masch on a permanent deal if we sell some players which we probably will do.

£10m for Carson, £10m for Sissoko and £10m for Crouch for example. We will probably get a few millions for Guthrie and Riise.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Won't sell Crouch allegedly. Think you are talking about £18m for both Carson and Sissoko (if sissoko goes). Also where do you get the idea we will have at least £20-30m after Masch has signed. I fully expect our spending to be lower than last summer due to costs of the Stadium.

If you for example say that Rafa get a £20m transfer kitty plus the money for the players we will sell, then he should get £20m-£30m to spend even if we sign Masch.

          £20m transfer kitty.
          Sissoko, £10m.
          Riise, £5m.
          Guthrie, £2m.
          Carson, £10m.
          Maybe Crouch £10m.

          £47m plus maybe £10m.

          Mascherano, £17m.

          £30m-£40m to spend.

he is a definate necessary purchase cause momo isnt up to it, and gerrard DOES need cover to play in centre midfield plus he gives an extra something neither lucas or alonso have......WE MUST BUY HIM!!

Carrick 16 million = masher a bargain at 17 million
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

I really can't see us getting 10m for Momo at the moment. More like 6m I'd say.

Well just read the thread in the Transfer Speculation forum which says we may have agreed a deal with Inter for Momo @ 10m.

Really can't see us getting that amount for him. Great if true though!

Hahahahaha - we'll be lucky to get 25 for that lot of junk. Sissoko is an awful footballer, Riise is even worse, Crouch is mediocrity personified and Carson put in one of the worst England goalkeeping displays I've ever seen.

Given that money will be tight it's impossible to justify spending that ammount on a midfielder when we've already got Lucas and Alonso who can do the job just as well, if not better.

Any money made on sales should be spent on a winger and a central defender. Possibly a striker if theres any left.
