Riise should play more now when Kewell is fit. They understand each other very well and that is a very important point.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I dont like slagging off our own players but the fact remains Riise just isn't good enough unfortunately because I want him to improve. The team has outgrown him.

Riise has served the club well, scored some great goals and lifted some big trophies.

But the side is better than Riise now, we need more 'footballers'. Riise is a product of the Houllier era. Good, but not good enough to lift the title.

Riise is a very good squad player who can cover anywhere down the left, Maybe not a guaranteed starter every week but a player that can do a job when called upon. It's a squad game now and Riise is a good professional member of our squad who gives his all.

It's funny how many non-Liverpool fans think Riise is a top player - just shows how misleading highlights can be and how one good shot, cross, set piece etc can make it look like he's played well. But I find his poor positional play, his defensive frailties, his less than wholehearted attitude to tackling, the way he goes steaming in for clearances to welly the bell without giving a thought to where it might end up etc extremely infuriating.

Credit to him for playing well today but there's no way I would have him starting the majority of games.

I have always been of the opinion that Riise is definitely good enough for us!
I manage to see a lot of the Liverpool matches and I dont see him being out of place at all, for me the fact that we have had one of the best defences over the past 5 years or more proves this.
Its all well and good saying "well Cole is better" but could any other left back fit into the system we have so easily? It may be that a new left back would lack the discipline, not get the zonal system or lots of other things.

I think for some reason Riise has become an easy target and for what its worth I wholeheartedly disagree with the people who slate him. He has more than proven his worth in my opinion.

That sounds a lot like a certain Mr Carragher!

Risse played well today! He was strong agains Davis, he was the right player for that job! Well done Raffa!

This is fine and i agree, but if this squad player could potentially fetch upto £7m, then IMO, i'd rather have the cash to strengthen elsewhere, than a 3rd choice LB.

I like Riise, but with Aurelio, Arbeloa and Insua coming through, he is definitely worth selling for the right price.
