Fabio Capello for Liverpool report is 'utter rubbish'
Dec 5 2007
by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo
LIVERPOOL today emphatically dismissed speculation they want Fabio Capello to replace Rafa Benitez as manager.
One report this morning stated that Liverpool had made contact with the Italian boss with a view to him taking over at Anfield.
But Reds chief executive Rick Parry moved swiftly to knock down the speculation, describing it as “absolutely, completely and utterly untrue”.
The report claimed 61-year-old Capello – who has already thrown his hat into the ring for the England manager’s job – was contacted twice by Liverpool last week, before and after the Champions League win over Porto.
But Parry insists no such approaches were ever made and is perplexed by the rumours.
He said: “Capello has not contacted us and we have not contacted him.”
Benitez was joined by Parry and Foster Gillett at last night’s mini derby at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington and the trio watched Liverpool run up a comfortable 3-0 win over neighbours Everton.
Hungarian prospect Krisztian Nemeth scored twice as a young Liverpool side put on a dazzling performance.
Reserve team captain Jack Hobbs did not feature as the 19-year-old will again feature in the first team squad for this weekend’s trip to Reading.
Hobbs impressed as a substitute against Bolton on Sunday after replacing the injured Jamie Carragher.
Carragher is expected to make a complete recovery from the bruised ribs which forced him off in the Bolton game but Hobbs could come into contention for a start because Carragher would miss the forthcoming Man United game should he pick up a booking at Reading.
Hobbs says he is ready if called upon.
“Carra has got time to recover, but if I am needed to fill in and help then I will do,” he said. “I’d look forward to it and feel I am ready.”
Meanwhile, UEFA have made no contact with Liverpool after allegations emerged in the German press that they have launched an investigation into the Reds recent 8-0 thrashing of Besiktas.
The speculation suggested UEFA are scrutinising irregular betting patterns centred on that fixture.
http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0...name_page.htmlJust believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

why do we jump through hoops to deny obviously rubbish stories and yet can't deny the one that really mattered?Originally posted by AFII View PostFabio Capello for Liverpool report is 'utter rubbish'

did we used to respond to crappy speculation all the time?"At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques"

This is how I imagine you.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Just hope our poor form continues, unbeaten in EPL, scoring goals for fun, not conceding much, we got one of the best strikers around hitting the net regularly, we really are having a ****ty season aren't we.
Capello and the other pretenders can **** off. Long may Rafa reign
And long may our poor form continue
The stars are shining like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun.

If it is Hicks, he should fook off and learn more about skill management and then realise that we already HAVE the best manager around and he should be left alone to get on with his job and guide us to greatness once againOriginally posted by AFII View PostIt's probably Hicks trying to convince us that Capello is better than Rafa
Anybody who THINKS he can do a better job than Rafa is dilusional and so can fook right off

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."
