    Kuyt and Bellamy...

our best strike partnership? I thought they worked well together esp given that they would have spent very little time together on the training pitch.

I don't know where this will leave Crouch or even more so Fowler.

They looked good in patches last night, but I don't reckon they'll start against chelsea.

    Tinkerman2 will keep rotating.

They are probably the best strikers we have anyway! If they can work up a partnership that starts to deliver goals goals goals .... then give 'em a run I reckon

Most definitely our best strike partnership, in my opinion.

As I said before last night's game this partnership offers us everything needed in a front two partnership - pace, hold-up of the ball ability, movement, and I have no doubt given time, understanding. The goals will flow if these two are given playing time together.

Crouch will also get plenty of games, rotating with both regularly, but I feel now that we have these two Crouch will play more of a substitute's role in the bigger games as the season progresses. Fowler will probably play less that the other three, and mostly from the bench.

I still expect Crouch to start on Sunday though.

I think Rafa will go 4-5-1 and have Crouch as the lone man on Sunday.

            me too. its negative.

Be interesting to see how Villa do in the coming seasons and their style of play. I thik Rafa is wonderful but still have massive doubts over his selections and tactics at times in the premiership. O'Neill would have us attacking teams from the off imo.

Be nice to take the shackles off, play what he regards is our best 11 and go for the chelsea throats, they won't be expecting it.

agreed, whe I saw last night's line up and the derby one i knew he was looking for a point.

I can see us sitting deep and taking a lot of pressure on Sunday. i wish we would be more positive, we have some wonderful players, who if unleashed will do a lot of damage to the opps.

btw does Rafa even know what his best x1 is at the moment?

I'm one of Rafa's biggest fans but I'm a bit worried about this rotation thing. It's all very well resting players from time to time and giving some other players a run out but I think you need to keep the spine of your team consistant. IMO your keeper, centre backs, central midfielders and front 2 should be able to get a run of games under their belt to get some rhythm. Changing one or 2 players each game isn't a problem but when you star making 5 or 6 changes I think the players get confused. Carra and Agger, Bellamy and Kuyt looked very good last night but I think Rafa will bring back Sami and Crouch for Sunday.

can't see how anyone can say that crouch isn't our best striker at the moment. dropping our in form proven striker for the sake of experimenting would be ludicrous.

Agreed, but in the grand scheme of things he's probably 3rd choice

Kuyt and Bellamy as a partnership has pretty much everything
