If I were to pick our best 3 central midfielders, his name isn't one of them. If he is good enough to play in this team who is he saying he is better than?
Gerrard?
Alonso?
Masher?
Don't make me laugh. I'd swap him quite happily for a talented right winger. We'd still have 4 central midfielders without him and the balance of our squad is better.
Besides, he shouldn't be telling the world who is in the team anyhow until Rafa publicly reveals it.
Looks like Momo will be gone in January then. In another time he'd have been good enough to be in the team. But he's not good enough to be in THIS one.

****ing deluded, we wouldn't even need to bring another player in jan just selling sissoko would improve our squadOriginally posted by DancingRobot View PostA bit off topic but now read this:
Mohamed Sissoko has hit out at his exclusion from the Liverpool side to face Marseille in the crucial Champions League tie at Stade Velodrome, insisting he will discuss his future at the Merseyside club in January.
The Mali midfielder played in the disappointing 3-1 defeat to Reading on Saturday but will be sidelined when Rafa Benitez's side bid to clinch the three points that will take them into the knockout stages of the competition.
"It is in France, all my family are there and they wanted to see me on the pitch," he stormed to RMC.
"It is a difficult time. I am good enough to play in this team.
"It's the manager's decision. I respect it but I will discuss this in January.
"I will make an assessment with my agents and the manager. I have been asking myself that question for a while.
"I accept healthy competition but to play one match every five does not interest me."

To a degree I feel sorry for Momo.
I think he had so much pressure heaped on him after we all saw how good he was at the beginning of his LFC carreer, and when he got injured against Benfica we were all very worried whether he'd play again and who we could replace him with.
He seemed to enjoy his football back then and the only gripe I had was that he was too prone to yellow cards.
Sadly he has failed to perform time and time again for quite some time and to be honest Rafa probably kept faith with him for a little too long. If he is playing one in five games he only has himself to blame, only because he has not done any of the simple things well.
It is very rare that one player has a huge impact on games, but whenever Momo plays we seem to be so poor and disjointed......swap him with JM or Lucas and we are a totally different team.
I do hope he leaves, and I hope we get some decent dosh for him.
If we only make one signing in Jan, i would hope it would be JM at the expense of Momo.
Should he leave I wish him the best of luck

Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I really like Momo, I really do. But we've got Gerrard and Alonso in their prime, and Mascherano and Lucas yet to reach their prime. As complete midfielders, they're all better players than he is and, based on his progress (or lack thereof) during his time with us, I don't see Sissoko reaching their level.
Unless we don't manage to sign Mascherano to a permanent deal, I don't see any future for Momo other than as a bit-part player. Assuming that happens, we need to sell him on. We could use the money, and Momo's a young lad with a decade of football still ahead of him who deserves to be somewhere where he'll get games.

I like Momo and he'll come good if he sticks to it. Maybe he isn't good enough for us but I do remember when most of us were raving about his first season with us.
