a word for Babel. The lad has scored 7 goals (or around that) and took his goal brilliantly.

Specially when you take in how many minutes he has been on the pitch, a lot of the matches he has only came on in the last 30 minutes and really helped destroy teams. Another Rafa sub which I suppose some people will forget when they say none of his subs make an impact.

The only fear is that it is such a long time till the next round the teams that are out of sorts now may have got their **** together by then.

Mind you I don't particularly fear any team against us in a 2 legged cup tie.

They were all good tonight. And one word for Gerrard tonight which people generally say he isn't...disciplined. Granted he didn't need to bomb forward after the 1st 10 mins, but he did well, just sitting.

For me our 1st choice MF right now has to be Benayoun, SG, Masher & Kewell. Attack = Torres + 1

only downside to tonight.....with porto winning group, we have to make do with first leg of next round at home and second leg (great european nights at anfield) being played away.

be honest, the reading game was lost well before gerard and torres were taken off. any other players get taken off and replaced and we had still lost, nowt would have been said. the game plan we had against reading wasn't working so why not take off gerard and torres? wasn't as if the players coming on were ****. i would have done same thing and kept our best players from getting injured for big game tonight. well done rafa for having the bollocks to make another big decision!!!!

George swooned on about scoring 16 goals in the CL games and asked no difficult questions.

Rafa smiled and obliged.

for me we need to win. We need to ensure we keep their wingers (Ronaldo/Giggs) on the back foot. So we need to have them tracking back. I think Aurelio is suited to this. His crossing ias good. His set pieces could be curical too in a tight game.
