You think he made the right decision not to fight for vital league points.
Is that correct?
There was still 20 minutes of that game left, remember Istanbul? With the right mindset we could've turned that around, and gotten something from the game.
Would Wenger, Demento or the Chavs under Mourinho have quit on a game like that?
No they bloody wouldn't, and that's why they've won the league and we haven't.
dont get the fact that they have had a few hundred million between them, or rafa took over a crock of **** get in your way of an argument.
It also shows the importance of now buying QUALITY over quantity and that now is the time to supplement the basis of what is a good 1st 11. With the right 1 or 2 additions that could be a great 1st 11.
If we buy a proper right midfielder, and another proven goalscoring striker and quality LB (who ideally can cover CB too) we will have a top 1st 11. Add decent cover for Kewell, and we have a very, very strong squad.

i think he did fight for valuable points in the reading game. we cant play torres and gerard EVERY game!! they weren't working for us that game (hence us being 3-1 down) so whay cant he take them off and bring on different players? rafa never quit on the game....just tried to change it by taking under acheivers in that game off.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Yes.
You don't get anymore points for beating the scum than you do Reading.
Risking injuries eh? Nonsense. Players can get injured in training or shagging the wife.
That should never be a reason not to play somebody. Ridiculous.
so that game has the same significance as scum? what a crock of ****!! reading is a 3pointer, Scum is a 6pointer .....not forgetting how good it will feel

I know the points you are making and agree that we should have gone all out to beat Reading but we do get more than 3 points for beating the Scum. We also prevent them from getting any points. It's the proverbial 6 pointer if you like.
A **** record against the top 3 have been the main reasons for us not being closer in recent years.

Perhaps I should rephrase then: That's why we haven't competed for the league.
Don't let some small fact that Rafa have only been able to go for his number one tagets in one window stop you.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

He took off Gerrard against Everton as well so what, is he undropable?
Also, when Gerrard came off we did not play any worse in fact we came closer to scoring. I see the match against Reading as more of a freak result we were average and they were below average and we let in three soft goals, end of **** like that happens sometimes.
If Gerrard stayed on it wouldn't have made any difference it just wasn't our night and as I said when he came off we created more clear cut chances.
Anyway, time to move on I'm focused on us beating the SCUM on the weekend if you want to spend your time tonight moaning about the Reading result then be my guest.

ARE YOU HAVING A LAUGH?
Gerrard and Torres were directly involved in our goal that night.
It was the others who were ****in ****.
And of course he whipped off the two who had the ability to get us back in it.
Can't believe people have accepted this so readily. It was a disgrace and it goes against all the clubs values.
