Gerrard and Torres were directly involved in our goal that night.

It was the others who were ****in ****.

And of course he whipped off the two who had the ability to get us back in it.

I genuinely think to Rafa and many European coaches the CL is more important than the league.

Disagree, the problem is the CL takes place in 2 mini tournaments. The league pre-Christmas then a few months off and it's the knockouts.

You have to focus a lot of attention on the league pre-Christmas and then you put it to bed for a few months.

The Premiership is the same intensity for 9 months.
This is the closest we've been to challenging in December under Rafa and we have been the best post Christmas team in the league the last 2 years.

DJS - I made the exact same point to my Mrs tonight. Why leave them on when we don't need to? At 3-0 Torres & SG should have been off. As it stands we played the perfect game tonight - but whether we'll be able to sustain that on Sunday in light of them staying on tonight is yet to be seen.

so taking them off with 20 to go when we were at a canter and we have 5 days to rest will affect there performance.......but taking them off with 20 to go, where they would have had to push hard and then have 3 days rest was the wrong thing to do?

I am - the formation was outrageous, even if I could just about stomach the 11 selected. I can undertsand why he selected teh personnel he did, but I just cannot fathom the formation (i.e. no width) especally when it hadd been working so well for us recently. HAving said that -the Reading game could have gone either way. An hour in at 1-1, there was only 1 team going to win that game and it was us. One stupid tackle later and we had it all to do.

As I said wasn't our night, we lost to Reading bad result but we're still only six point off the pace in December and we haven't this close since I can't even remember when. Anyway, I'm moving on to think about hating the SCUM on the weekend. Enjoy your bitter moaning.

When a ref get THREE penalty decisions wrong and all of them going one way then it's very difficult not to blame the ref.

He should also have sent one Reading player off, he was the last man in our second penalty incident.

Carra should have got a yellow but I would rather have taken that instead of a pen.

If he had left Torres and Gerrard on, we might still have lost that game, the might have picked up injuries and/or cards.
There's no guarantees. We were losing that game when gerrard came off, basically the team on the field wasn't working.
I have no problem with Rafa changing things when they're not working like the Reading game.
