I know, and Chelsea have been the big winners recently. However if we beat Manure then that will be a big statement to the rest. Sunday will prove whether we have what it takes. We have two players on fire at the moment so Manure should really be put away.

All true.Originally posted by DJS View PostYou're missing the point, which isnt surprising for a RCDNW sheep...
He took off Torres and Gerrard at Reading, to keep them fresh for an important game (tongiht's)...
Tonight, the game was won at 3-0 - and the next game is an important one...yet, he doesnt take them off early enough (or at all, in SG's case).
So the philosophy he used at Reading, clearly isnt THAT important to him, as he ditched it tonight.
Absolutely bizarre and defying all sense. DOES he believe in keeping players fresh or doesnt he??
Tonight confirmed it for me.
Winning the European cup is more valuable than winning the league.
And people accept this?

Hate to be radical, but how about both?Originally posted by Manofthebog View PostMoney makes the world go around.
3 points at reading on saturday, or 10 million pounds riding on tonites game?
No brainer.
And aside from that, it still doesnt explain why he didnt 'protect' torres and gerrard when it went 3-0 tonight.

Let's beat United on Sunday and then Rafa can go into the meeting with our owners with a strong hand. It really would take a complet ****** to sack Rafa at this stage of the season. The time to look at his performance as manager is at the end of the season and not halfway though while we're still in with a shout for all the major trophies. This isn't GH we're talking about here, who was clueless and should've been sacked well before he was, this is a manager who's actually having a reasonably good season so far.Originally posted by Helios Creed View PostReading too much into insignificant details..
Before the game, I'm sure that Rafa said something about concentrating on the Manure and then "hopefully" Chelsea and Portsmouth (I think that's what he said...) Rafa hinting at his position or just being playful?
Also, both Stevie and Carra said that they were ignoring the friction between manager and owners and getting on with it, but neither said anything to support Rafa... not wanting to take sides or not wanting to side with the guy who could be on his way out?
I have a nasty feeling something stupid is going to happen. Rafa is such a poker-playing brinkmanship merchant.
Bring on The Scum. Torres is The Light and we are like moths to his brilliant flame.
The Americans are surely brighter than alot on here give them credit for.

Answer the point...Originally posted by red g View PostWOW you have won me over your constant digs at rafa and his ways. U have persuaded me that Rafa doesnt have a clue what he is doing, doesnt have any sort of game plan and doesnt think ahead lets sack him and appoint you.....as you clealry have a better understanding of the game and under your stewardship i am sure we would romp to the title.
Im summary i dont understand your agenda
If the philosophy is to protect players for the important upcoming game (as it was at reading), why was it different tonight?

Its a shame that cunts like you actually get to go to games. First sign of trouble and its boo ****ing hoo, throw all the toys out the pram time.
Win a crucial game for our season and you're still bleeting on about a mistake Rafa made 4 ****ing days ago.

So what would you take, three points against Reading or to keep Mascherano?Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostAll true.

If we had lost today then Rafa would probably not been allowed to sign Masch.
He couldn't take any chances at all because of things like this. You can't only look at what happening on the pitch, you must look what happens off it to.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The funny thing is, the perfectionism i sometimes have is the same as Rafa - he's a perfectionist too, when players come off, even if they've had a blinder, Rafa's there telling them where they went wrong.Originally posted by Harveybirdman View PostYou're a miserble **** arn't you.

I'm chuffed with tonight, it was a perfect performance away from home. Sublime in fact.
That doesnt stop me thinking about the Man Utd game and desperately wanting to win that. I want our chances to be as high as possible.
Maybe you dont.
Maybe it's good that i get to go to the games, because at least it's obvious that i'm pissed off when we lose...others seem not to be fussed...and have a go at those of us who are. Surreal.

ah, did i say i didnt care about losing points against Reading? No.Originally posted by DJS View PostSorry, but i DO care about us dropping stupid points at reading. Maybe you dont.
I was't bothered about Stevie not being subbed tonight.
I was just as pissed off as everybody else by losing to Reading.
But **** happens, we get on with things.
