Not if you consider that Arbeloa attacks a lot more. You more or less never see Arbeloa out of position even when he attacks.

Finnan the better defensive fullback, Arbeloa the more complete one.

agree with all that

arby is really promising but has room for improvement. ryan giggs or ronaldo will give him a really tough workout on sunday. his role is critical. if he shut down whichever one hes up against, were halfway to victory.

I’ve been a big fan of Finnan but today Arbeloa is the better right back. As it happens, I also think Arbeloa is our best left-back at this moment in time so, on Sunday, I’d go Finnan at right-back and AA on the left.

Finnan has been excellent and is far from finished, I think he is still a better defender than Arbeloa (more Irish bias?? :bird but Arbeloa is definetely more comfortable with the ball at his feet going forward.

Agree with your thoughts on Sunday as although there isn't much between Finnan & Arbeloa at RB, best FB pairing we have is both together and leaving Riise on the bench

Its great to have 2 excellent full backs to choose from and the fact that arbeola is so good at left back is a huge bonus

With Ronaldo and Giggs more than likely starting on Sunday for the scum Arbeloa and Finnan must start as our full backs. Riise will be a liability!!

I dont think Arbeloa is an unsung hero to be honest, theres been a good few threads on how good he has been since his arrival. Long may it continue!

As for sunday id say play Riise if Kewell plays, otherwise go with Arbeloa & Finnan. The team seems nicely balanced with Riise & Kewell on the left and Finnan is always consistent, its just a matter of who plays on the right wing and even that is relatively simple, Benyaoun isnt it.

Finnan and Arbeloa should always play against the teams with world class attackers.

We can play the likes of Riise and Aurelio against the 'weaker' sides where the onus is on us to get at the opposition

I think you are the one who is mistaken. I will give you that he isn't a great crosser of teh ball but his ability to bring the ball into midfield and offer an option going past the midfielder is excellent.
