Gerrard hit by Lighter

    Gerrard hit by Lighter



    Just watching a replay and noticed something that although I saw during the game did not think much of. Basically

    - Gerrard scores rebound and start to celebrate, runs off and goes down.
    - gets up and continues celebration but starts to hold mouth
    - At end of celebration he is still holding mouth, reaches in to mouth and it appears a little blood is evident.
    - While our players are talking to ref, presumably about why no red, who knows, Harry delivers a lighter to the Ref.
    - Soon after just before a free kick Arbeloa delivers some sort of medication to Gerrard which he applies straight away to his mouth.

    Just want to say if these events are connected and Stevie has been hit by a missile and

    COPPED IT ON THE CHIN (or lip)

    He was definitely hit by something, but I dont think it was a missile that caused the injury

    I think it was Arbeloa punching him in the face when celebrating!

    I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
    There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

      He was hit by something, although I thought he took an accidental slap in the mouth.

      He clearly had something handed to him for his mouth - at first I thought it was a gumshield but perhaps it was some bandaging or something.

      Yet, of course, the hapless Tyldsley and Pleat thought it was something for his LEG!!!

        Of course how did i miss that

        I thought he took a slap too when i saw it live but I am not sure now on the replay.

        You would think it would be public knowledge now but I thought it was worth raising because i am not sure now.

                i think the defender caught him has he slotted in the rebound, if you look closely.

                It looked like he was given some cotton wool to soak up the blood in his mouth so he wouldnt have to go off for treatment

                      It looked like as he slotted home the rebound from the penalty he turned and ran straight into Riise's shoulder and bust his lip, nothing sinister about it.
                      We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.
