    Stevies problem is that he goes the same way every bloody time.

    Best peno taker ive seen is Mendieta. Ive never seen him miss, he had this knack of making the keeper go the wrong way everytime.

    Kewell isn't that great at penalties either. Ive seen him miss a few.

    Torres is ****e at them BTW. He missed about 5 of them last season for Atleti.

    Dirk should be our first choice, followed by Crouchie

      Is Torres that bad? I always thought strikers were the best candidates for pens !

          he hits them really weak, so if the keeper picks the right way he will always save it.

                Apparently he's a very good peno taker. He even scored one in the League cup final against Brum some years ago.

                  I don't mind Gerrard taking the pens but not when he's been fouled in the lead-up to them. I thought Rafa had a rule about that from what Kuyt said after the Derby?

                    We cant be 100% - Gerrard missed his against Marseille, regardless of weather he scored the rebound its still classed as a miss.

                    Rafa does not have a set penalty taker, Gerrard said Rafa tells the team before the game who will be taking the penalty should we get one. I supppose this is a good idea as opposition coaches and goalkeepers do research the penalty takers (i.e which way they go, do they use placement or power), which makes it that much harder for the opposition not knowing exactly who will take the penalty.
