Fowler was a great penalty taker. I dont have the exact stats but i would think he missed about 3 out of 30.

What's the law now regarding the run up to penalties? I always thought that it had to be a continuous run up but Ronaldo literally stops half- way, and never gets picked up on it.

Fair enough and I don't want to overly criticise Robbie but I just wasn't fully confident when he stood up to take a penalty.

I can think of 3 misses straight away - Arsenal away (famous Seaman incident), Liberec at home in UEFA cup and Everton away (when Gary Mac scored from our penalty box). I'm sure there were more misses than that, but yeah, he was a better penalty taker than Owen.

I cant understand anyone as natural a scorer as him not being good at penalties.

                  No.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

i'm starting to get very confident in gerrard on the spot, his penalties have vastly improved, he used to convert every other pen but now he almost puts them all away...

I think Fowler had a 100% record up until the Seaman incident in 97, then after that and his injury around the same time I think his record was only just better than 1 in 2
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I remember seeing Jan Molby scoring a hat-trick of penalties against Coventry City in the League Cup. He is our top scorer from Pens.
