Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

Where you will see liverpool's title credentials is not now but next Saturday against Portsmouth.... when Man Utd lost against Man City early in the season, they went out and went on a winning run.... It is how LFC respond to the defeats against Reading and Man Utd where we will see if we have what it takes to win the title this season. The other contenders will drop points as well so there is still a lot to play for.

I have read in previous threads that people were of the opinion that if LFC were within 6 points at xmas, that we would then have a great chance of winning the title.....well guess what fockers, if we win our game in hand, then we are only 6 points behind.

Our next run of games in the league are Portsmouth home, Derby away, Man City away, Wigan home, Boro away, Villa at home, West Ham away and Sunderland home...... this takes us up to the Chelsea away game......

Of these above games, i think man city, boro and west ham away could all be potential banana skins - especially city away, but if we can win these next 8 games, then we are on a roll and who knows what we can achieve.

I actually hope that we are written off as being out of the title race by all the rags and ******s tomorrow because it will give the players more determination.....

the response to defeat is where we will see this teams real character and only then will we know if they are true champions....

Come on redmen!!! Make us dream!!

Sorry but losing to the Scum is a bitter pill to take and ends an horrible week of mumblings and talk of back stabbing off the pitch and two owners that havent a clue about football nor have the money and cant even run their own American football/basball/Ice Hockey teams..........

......and a stadium that seems will appear when Jesus and Elvis will do a duet some time down the line..........

Quite frankly im pissed off the whole lot of them and i hope a new year will bring better attitude's from all parties cause its the fans that suffer and really own the club

leagues aren't won in December, the loss today was hard to take, especially as i could have kept goal for the scum.

Rafa needs to have a plan b - he seems incapable of changing things. He isn't perfect and really needs to improve here.

Somehow can't see us winning our next 8 games, you know rafa will play a weakened side somewhere and we'll get bit, just like reading last week and portsmouth etc earlier in the season.

Our squad is also not strong enough, too many fillers. I don't really think rafa should be asking for or indeed needing more money. If he was brave enough to sell carson, riise, momo, crouch, pennant, kuyt, voronin in the next two transfer windows that would give him close to 50 million. Add a transfer budget of 20 million in the summer and that 70 million would easily buy us what we need.

1 world class second striker, 1 world class winger, a quality full back or two and we would easily be really competing.

We do seem to be a bit scared of these ****ers though,we never go at them like we do the Arse or Chelsea. However if todays game is the last one we lose this season we'll be up there at the end.

And play Babel up with Torres. They'll scare the **** out of opposing defenders for the rest of the season

Needs to have a strong right hand man to pull him up on decisions...??

Something that he doesnt have now that Paco has gone maybe the other lads are just yes men and dont give their opinions or maybe Rafa doesnt take them on board its interesting that he hasnt fully replaced Paco....

i honestly believe that we can do it. We will see over the next 8 games what we are made of and i think liverpool will get back to rolling over teams....

to think that we still have Xabi and the DAgger to come back into the side - and also Finnan - then i do really fear for teams that have to play us soon.

Also, in the second half of the season, we will see the true fruits of rafa's rotation.

What would be a disaster would be a long term injury to a key player like Gerrard, Torres, Reina or even Xabi and Agger again - if we steer clear of that then i reckon we can give anyone a run....

Also, we play the top 3 away after xmas. ordinarily, that would be a bad thing because in recent times, anfield has been a fortress and we have tended to be very inconsistant away from home. Well if you ask me this season is turning out to be different....

nice sentiments but we seem to have a great performance ie against the french then a **** one like today...i'm not writing our chances off because i think it's still a "4 horse race" but we didn't create anything today...maybe a couple of half chances for torres but that was it...playing the long ball upfield because we were pressured in defence was never going to work with our attackers and their defence

We need to make sure we come out of the Christmas period with maximum points to have a real good shot at the title and that is a far cry looking at the fixtures. If we don't win the title, it should go to the French

I'm there with the optimism BUT, your last sentence leads me to believe that you think we need 4 new players to compete and I think that's simply untrue.

And even if it was true, we're hardly likely to pick them all up in Jan whether the purse strings are loosened or not.

Agreed. Our squad is not good enough to win the title yet. We are lacking individual skill from our attacking players.
