Aguero costs 22m, that is his buy-out clause.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Atleticos CEO have confirmed it so yes, I'm very sure.

But when we have possession he's a total liability.
He was sound defensively for once. But again going forward which is a big part of a full backs's game especially at home, he was found wanting. His crossing is awful. And why do better free kick takers allow him to take our free kicks? And then he shoots from 20+ yards every match when it never hits the target and others are better placed. Get rid Rafa please!

Remembering Rafa's Valencia side, it doesn't make sense to me that we hoof it so much.
Indeed. It must be the lack of player quality on the ball and technically rather than Rafa's attitude?

I'm totally with you on signing him, but there has been no mention at all of this hapenning. Sadly I can see the Americans spenign very little in Jan and Rafa out of the door soon after as a result.

I heard there was a mention of us in the business section of the Sunday Times- the owners are defo securing the debt on the club - not as they promised

We wouldn't need to spend more or less anything if we sell Sissoko, Kuyt and Crouch and sign Aguero and Kaladze.

I doubt Kun would want to leave Atletico right now to be honest.

Everything is going well for him there.

If I was him, as a professional, I'd stay right where I was for at least another season.

I'm sure its a mind set thing. Benitez is a great tactician but I'm not convinced that he can get the players in the right mindset to win these games against the other top 3 teams. Our record against the other top three teams since he took over has been quite poor.

The team looked more anxious today than the fans, the crosses were going all over the place. Kewell who can normally cross the ball on to sixpence couldn't cross for **** today. Gerrard looked like a little boy lost.

These are proven players so I don't think that us spending money on more players will help, I think more back room staff who can actually convince these players that they can win these games are needed.

Our best players today weren't our summer signings but ones from the Houllier era (Riise and Hyypia) who most of the people on this fourm would have been happy if we sold if the right bids came in.

Football Manager style spending isn't going to win us the league but back room who can install a sense of belief and grit will.

They can install this belief into the champions league and I want to start seeing it in the league too.

                    Left back/central defender.....Kaladze
Right winger.....Ribery, can play on both left and right wing
                    Second striker....Diego or Aguero

We should have the money to sign all the above if we sell of some players like Riise, Sissoko, Crouch and Kuyt.

Nail on head. Belief. Instilled by good managers in good and bad players.

                                Summer transfer budget.

I think Maestro said something about that.

Selling Carson plus Guthrie would probably pay most of the £17m.
