not a technical player. i agree, but...................Originally posted by Jazzmaster View PostBecause agger and alonso are injured. Simple as that. Carra is not a technical player.
what carra lacks in technical ability he more than makes up for with his heart. the team would not be the same without him in it.
one question for everyone is : tevez and rooney are chasing you down at speed what would you do ???
hoof it anywhere so they cant score ??
nutmeg them and play it out of defence...........
carra
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Next week when Carra tries to play himself out of trouble and concedes because of it (like against Arsenal last season, I think??) then all the boo boys will says 'hard lines' at least he tried to play football?
BOLLOCKS.
Get a grip lads and support the team.Winning an argument on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win you are still a retard!

Carra almost always play it safe and that is the number one priority for a defender, why take a chance and risk something when you don't need to?
Some of his hoofs are because of our **** movement off the ball.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think it is a bigger problem that Carra to be honest. At the minute there is a lack of good decision making in the team when we gain posession in our own half. We rarely move the ball quickly on the deck up the pitch on the counter. A lot of times against United we turned back to keep posession rather than moving forward on a rapid break and at other times we just launched long balls.
Against lesser teams we can get away with this but we need to be more intelligent against teams like United. My feeling is that it is partly a thing about the personalities within the team. We need someone calm and experienced to take charge in midfield and make us a more decisive/incisive team who give each other options when we come out from the back.
IMO the key player in our squad in this regard is Alonso. He seems to command the respect needed from Gerrard and Carragher always seems confident passing short to him. Mascher undoubtedly has the ability to help us in the regard as well but I don't feel he has the leadership qualities as yet."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

There is supporting the team but also there is also recognising our shortcomings. And one of the biggest visible ones on unday was that 3 of the back 4 were just hoofing it. Carra included. The only one of the back 4 comfortable on the ball was Arbeloa. Games against Man Utd are not the games to judge people on because they are so atypical of the other 36 league games we play in a season - but they are so crucial in terms of results. For us not to be controlling the ball, and resorting to "hoof" (and then not recognising that that wasn't working, and then not changing it) was the most diasppointing aspect of Sunday.

Yeah it was almost as if no one told him Crouch wasn't playing from the start
We missed the usual suspects Agger and Alonso today, in fact I would have bought Leiva on later to get the ball blady moving! Gerrard on the right for an out of sorts frail Benni.
Having said that they crammed their box with at least 5 defenders in the game so whatever space there was, was too deep for us to create in. Also having said that
one would think footballers of plenty years' experience would know how to counter that at least..?
Your too good to be true, can't take the ball off you you got a heavenly touch, you pass like Sounness to rush. And when we're pissed in the bars we thank the Lord that your ours
