Not to be pedantic but he blew his knee out years ago. He blew his achilles out this season!Originally posted by willa1975 View PostWe need to upgrade from Riise, no question. If Finnan were fit, I don't think JAR would be starting.
I'm also hopeful for Aurelio...unfortunately, he blew out his knee last season just when he started looking good. But I'd give him a run right about now.

JesusOriginally posted by Jaymo View PostRiise needs his legs broke.. then that'll give him a good long rest, where we dont have to constatnly tear our hair out (unless your bald) about him giving the ball away.. wasting possesion with countless ****e shots or fannying out of 50/50's
You deserve a whole train load of karma for that comment. I'll ask you this, "what impact did Ronaldo have on yesterday's game and who was marking him?"Originally posted by Gordon Brown

Everyone looks for Riise to ****up, and everytime he makes a simple slip that ANY footballer makes, people jump on it and say "****ing Ginger C*NT!" Riise's qualities are mainly huge stamina (even incredible) and he's strong as an ok. He's not as bad, as people make out in technical terms, but he's no good at crossing. I think he's even awful. He always want an extra touch. Maybe it's a lack of practice I don't know.Originally posted by dww View PostHe had a decent game but some of his weaknesses in terms of crossing and ball retention were also evident.
He's been a great servant to the club. He won't be short of suitors, I tell you that.

I am one of his harshest critics but felt he did well defensively today, offered little going forward and hit the first man with most attempted crosses as usual but got a few more tackles in than normal and kept Ronaldo quiet which few have been able to do this seasonOriginally posted by Rocket View Posti thought riise had one of his better games yesterday
Still, he wasn't outstanding and this is the level I would expect our first choice LB to perform at week in week out - it's appauling to make a comment about one of our players breaking his leg though, whether it was meant in jest or notAt a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly

he actually had one or two ok efforts on goal, both on target, but not hit powerfullyOriginally posted by homer1 View PostI am one of his harshest critics but felt he did well defensively today, offered little going forward and hit the first man with most attempted crosses as usual but got a few more tackles in than normal and kept Ronaldo quiet which few have been able to do this season

So did I to be honest. I think he knows his LFC future is on the line though.Originally posted by Rocket View Posti thought riise had one of his better games yesterday"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.
