I apologise to DJS for our spat in this thread. Sorry mateOriginally posted by redblood View PostFunny you say that Tom, something that has been rolling around my head for weeks now is the difference between FANS and SUPPORTERS, anyone can be a FAN let's be SUPPORTERS.

But I do think that there is a difference between older-style fans and the atitudes of some. The best way I can put this is that I'm a "fan" not a "consumer" of football (I'm not saying that's you DJS). For me support is unconditional especially after results like sundays, I really hate the new type of 606 whinge "consumer" football fan and I stand by the effect that these type of feedback mechanisms have on the overall morale of the club and players.
One of things that the young lads get taught at the acadamy is how to get over disapointments quickly. To learn from bad results and move on. It's as much part of the liverpool way as pass and move. We, as fans need to do our bit as well and man-up after games and not seek scapegoats. A club and fanbase divided is a club in trouble.

The 606 whingebags piss me off no end, calling up to demand Rafa is sacked, threatening to go to matches with banners calling for Kuyt to be dropped/sold
I'd hate anyone to get the impression that morons like that are in any
way representative of Liverpool fans.
Time to back the team and the manager, and make the moaning whingers the unheard minority.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Couldnt agree more. Not that i'd ever want it to happen but it would be interesting to see how many 'fans' would be left if the club got into trouble and got relegated - **** all for the most part i would think. Many so called fans associate with the club for the wrong reasons whereas the proper fan supports the club no matter what happens - liverpoolfc stands for something, and win or lose, that something deserves our unconditional support. I have absolutely no problem with people on this forum criticising players or managers when things go wrong, because that is part if football, but the constant whingy criticism of rafa and certain other elements of the club (which is definitive of many other liverpool sites which i wont name here) does little but to divide the fanbase and drive morale into a downward spiral.Originally posted by Tom View PostI apologise to DJS for our spat in this thread. Much of that criticism is false criticism because so called fans' opinions are coloured by the media's unending analysis of benitez and his team, which overlooks many of the facts that dictate our managers decisions (on the pitch and in the transfer market)
We all know that the club is not perfect and not at the level to which we aspire but our support and love of the club can take it there.
God bless us everyone.

At the risk of repeating many others;Originally posted by Tom View PostStop whinging. Support the club.
The boys need the support of real fans now, and could do with not being undermined by the the pathetic amauter analysis of keyboard warrors which gets picked up on by the tabloid press and amplified back as pressure on the club.
Don't do the oppositions job for them or if you can't feck off and support 606 Surrey SKY FC.
Rant over.
Its like a roller coaster ride on the fora this year. Win and we're going to be Champions, lose and Rafa should go and X player is ****e.
More middle ground, rationality would be nice, but I fear the plea is in vain on an internet site. Are you the Judean People's Front?

- we will win the cup
- sami scores the winner, even I wont slag the old man
- risse wins a penalty and should be kept as his pace causes problems in oposing half
- rafa will be a genius
- crouch should stay
........................................etc"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

If I was a betting man I would wager a bet that the absolute majority of people on here would continue to follow the reds even if we were relegated.Originally posted by Jazzmaster View PostCouldnt agree more. Exactly mate. And many of us had to endure the sh!te dished out by Souness's teams as well as the last 18 months of GH's reign which was pure torture....and we still went to the games/supported the club. That will always be the way.
