Fernando Torres is one of the best strikers in the world. He is usually quite brave too and is a decent lad, gets in the thick of battle etc, but against the mancs, when he had that header right in front of goal in the first half he shat himself when he saw someone running at him and pulled his head back a bit instead of just scoring.

Never seen him do anything like this before and hope it was just a one off.

DONT EVER ****IN DO IT AGAIN THOUGH NANDO. ITS THE ****IN MANCS YOU PUT THE BALL IN THE NET AT ALL ****IN COSTS EVEN IF YOU GET A BIT OF A **** TO THE NOSE

    Whinge over
    Get behind the team!!!

Torres was a major disappointment in truth. He's our key asset upfront but was contained by Ferdinand. In fairness, torres had little service but from the few sniffs he did get he didn't make the most of them.

But to be fair, when you have water carriers like Kuyt playing alongside him what do you expect. Not many strikers can hold their own against both Ferdinand and Vidic. Torres needs quality alongside him.

i wasn't meaning to be critical of Torres. He had little to feed off and up against top notch defences you need support.

I agree. I've had enough of players like Kuyt. He tries hard but he's rubbish. He wouldn't get a sniff at any of the big clubs and I'm totally perplexed as to why Rafa plays him.
