Dear Mr Kraft,
My name is Keith Gray, I come from Newry, Northern Ireland which is part of the United Kingdom. I support Liverpool Football Club and have since I was born and the reason I am writing to you is regarding investment in Liverpool Football Club.
It has been placed on record that you have or might be interested in Liverpool, either through funding the new stadium, only buying a small stake i.e. 30% or bid to takeover Liverpool completely.
I admit I am fed up to the constant rumours and speculation about potential investment in Liverpool it is worse than a soap opera it is totally and utterly unacceptable that this should be allowed to go on as unresolved. I may be misreading the signals Mr Kraft but are you in discussions at present with Liverpool Football Club and if not would you be interested in making a full takeover bid of the club.
I read also you were close to a full takeover on Saturday 20 May 2006 (The Day I got Married) or was it just pure press speculation putting 2&2 together and getting 5. I have read your profile and what you have done for the New England Patriots and also with their stadium, it has impressed me very much. I don’t know if you are aware Liverpool Football club want to build a new stadium and have an European grant of £9 million at present but must have proof they have the finances to build the stadium by the end of this week so that the commission who issue the grant have time to consider the information and also making them able to make a final decision on the 28 September.
I know the current Chief Shareholder & Chairman Mr David Moores, may have or is putting you off in attempts to formally bid to takeover Liverpool Football Club. I find him very selfish and not able to grasp the postion the club financially finds itself in, don’t get me wrong he is a non interfering Chairman which I commend totally but he has and continues to say he won’t invest any of his own finance into the club which in my book makes him a lame duck chairman, he also has stated he has the best interests of the club at heart well everytime we have won a major competition he takes the credit and that he can stay put that is wrong. That shows and proves he has only his best interests at heart.
I heard Mr Moores is very reluctant to sell all his majority shareholding, but I believe it needs somebody like yourself Mr Kraft, with the financial muscle and astute business and good commercially as well to get Liverpool competing off the pitch for years. It is appalling that we had to sell a player first to raise the funds to buy a new one that is totally and utterly unacceptable then how does Mr Moores expect us to raise the finance for the new stadium on that basis.
Mr Kraft this is a heartfelt plea on behalf on me and the vast majority of Liverpool football Supporters all over the world, we want an end to this we have been waiting 3 years for investment, I don’t want someone to buy the naming rights for the new stadium, or just to have a small stake lets says 25-30%. I t has to be a full takeover all or nothing you are that man to do that you tick all the boxes make my reality come true I won’t rest until Mr Moores is gone and you are the new owner. It needs to happen and now without you in full ownership and control we will sink further and further into decline in off the field issues.
I hope you take on board what I have said and at your earliest possible convenience reply to my letter I would really appreciate it very much.
