    Nonsense

    ................Reina

    Finnana.Carra Agger.Arbeloa

    Gerrard......Xabi......Masher

    ......Babel..Crouch..Torres

Let Babel and Torres drift inside when the full backs push on and are protected by the 3 CMs.

As for it not being attacking enough at home I have to disagree. With this formation we'd essentially have 4 attackers supported by two overlapping fullbacks; it'd actually give us more options.
The thing is....Rafa hasn't spent £17m on Mascherano, has he?
And we don't know for sure that he will.

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

It isn't the system, it's the personnel.

                    Not having it

Those 11 players we had out at Reading would all have got in the Reading first team, yet we got gubbed

Whereas that would never happen if we'd played 4-4-2?

First of all, I would argue that we didn't play 4-2-3-1 against Reading. It was more like a 4-3-3.

Secondly, I posted earlier that we don't have the personnel to play 4-2-3-1. There is a lot of attacking responsibility on the wide players and ours are either not good or fit enough.

Benitez's Valencia proved that there is nothing wrong with the system providing you have the personnel.

Rafa has been after an attacking right wing back for years, so he probably want to play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.

First he tried to sign Alves and in the last window he tried to sign Cicinho.

If you look at his other signings, no real wide midfield player, then it's very easy to think that Rafa want to play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

So Pennant isn't a real wide midfield player?

He wanted to sign Alves to play RM, once he was priced out he went for Pennant.

You're also completely ignoring the fact that Rafa has always kept 4 strikers in his squad, which is a clear indication he's always looked at 4-4-2 as our primary structure.
