    ***The Portsmouth build up thread**

Time to galvanise once more and cheer the reds on for a final title push.

With Xabi back against Chelsea it gave us a taste of what we've been missing, our midfield general sitting in the middle pulling the strings making himself available every time we had possesion, ffs he even made Sissoko look good(when he was on)this is because he brings a calmness to our midfield and gives Momo a simple option where as Stevie is all blood and thunder playing with a lot more urgency(i think this makes Momo nervous on the ball). Hopefully Xabi starts on Saturday and we can get back in the habit, our season starts now theres only 7 points in it if we win our game inn hand, c'mon the Pool.

It's all ifs and buts, ut at least that's a more positive outlook on our season.

An early goal would bring another comfartable victory. Can't see Xabi starting, but a place on the bench for him would be nice.
    Forwards.......

Only 7 points, but away trips to United, Arsenal and Chelsea to come.

It's too much to ask now.

Rubbish IMO, Liverpool are a team capable of going on a long winning run. Is it just me, or do we always do better in the second half of the season under Rafa, due to all the rotating?

Goes without saying, but a win is a must and anything else is a bust

I think Man U have a fairly tough game against an in form Everton side, and the arse have their derby game

Even if we gain 1 point on either of them it will be a good weekend

The Mancs always beat Everton plus Everton are playing tonight away in the UEFA cup, not ideal preparation.

Anyway we need to get back to winning ways and i actually think Xabi will start on Saturday but wont play the 90 minutes. Hes too important not to play imo.

It might be difficult to beat Chelsea, the Mancs and Arse at the own grounds but i think on our day we can and i will continue to believe we will prevail once we stay within range.

Not a prayer of taking 7 from 9; not a chance. Thats not defeatist its realism. We need a partner for Torres; a creative wide player; a decent left back and cover at centre back. We also need a settled team and style. We're not going to win the league without the above.
